I am really unsure about the weapon type I want for my main

It took me a long time, and I'm still unsure. So I'm going to ask you guys what kind of weapon would come to your mind when you think about this character.
For me, weapon choice and armor choice is highly focused on appearance and personality, weird as it sounds.

My character is named Valdis (Norse for: ''Goddess of the slain in death'', a good name for a warrior.)
Appearance:
Black hair
Pale skin
Light grey eyes (Almost white.)
Black eyeshadow (I'm no makeup expert, but people tend to call it raccoon eyes or something like that.)
Black lips
Black warpainting of some sort of arrow on her right cheek. (The same warpainting as Kodlak.)
A scar goes trough her left eye.
Musculair body

Valdis her appearance is very ''dark'', but that doesn't mean she is a necromancer or anything. I decided that she would fit best for a warrior because of her personality. (I'll come to that later.)

Personality:
Brave
Intimidating (Only the facial expression. She prefers not to hurt anybody, but doesn't hesitate if there is no other choice.)
Silent (Unless she is in battle, then she goes wild like it's a Moshpit in a Metal festival. :D)
Either emotionally unstable or not showing emotions at all, but very caring and symphatetic about other people their feelings.
Has a strong interest in the night, and other things related to darkness.
Frowns upon any form of opression.
Can be seen punching training dolls and doing push-ups. (Some warriors just never stop training their body. :P )

In my opinion, a weapon type is likely to fit with somebody his/her personality.

So, what weapon type would fit best, you think? I could make enchanting an option so I can name the weapon.

If you go one handed go with the axe and if you think its too slow pick a sword if it doesnt do enough damage pick a mace

I don't care much for damage or speed, I do well with all weapons.
I am leaning to using a greatsword with this character, but my perfectionism keeps me away from deciding.

Nothing more intimidating than a big silent guy with a two handed weapon.

I think you should go all out badass and go Warhammer. Fits your characters "Speak softly and carry a big stick" attitude he has.

The idea of a silent Metal lady (Yeah her appearance is inspired on the Metal culture. :D) with a two-handed is very lovely and intimidating indeed.
Maybe I should go for a greatsword.

One handed has a lot of versatility, you can dual wield or have a spell in one hand or a shield, from the description the character sounds quite intellectual so perhaps a torch in one hand and a sword in the other to create a scholar or simply an old fashioned adventurer, that could be cool. Plus since your character is interested in night a torch would be useful, and for a sword maybe try the Lunar Steel Sword? I don't know really, whatever seems to fit! Just some suggestions.

Bound Battleaxe is still perhaps my favourite weapon but perhaps doesn't quite seem to work in this case as well.

Torches will always be handy, even if I will use a two-handed weapon. So thanks for mentioning that idea.

A torch probably makes more sense for a warrior. Though Valdis has some knowledge of magic, not much. But probably enough to cast candle light.
