Rebuilding Tree LOD

Having a bit of pain with tree LOD at the moment; I've already built tree LOD for my worldspace - awhile ago actually, however I just changed a cell and in doing so deleted a few existing trees. When I jumped in game it still seems to be showing the tree LOD for the deleted trees. I tried rebuilding both object and tree LOD however the old tree LOD remains. Not to be deterred, I deleted the existing object and tree LOD files from the Meshes directory as well as the scratch files and rebuilt them again ... but the CK rebuilt the LOD for the deleted trees again! How? ... Why? ... These are the mysteries of life. I appreciate the CK's persistence on this matter and assume I'm not the first to experience this. Any ideas anyone? My mod has a BSA containing LOD, could the CK be reading the existing LOD files from the BSA? I have no idea why it would... but hey. As for workarounds, I suppose I could restore my last saved ESP and forget about the changes altogether...

Wait, solved it. Close the CK and reopen it, then regenerate object and tree LOD. Gods...
