Recovery from deleted item which breaks quest

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:03 am

Let's say that, hypothetically, someone realizes that they've erased a satchel from a cell, that was needed for a quest. Let's say that he/she thought he/she was doing that in a duplicate and not in the original, and that he/she was wrong. Let's also say that he/she saved the esp many times over, after that.

In that hypothetical scenario, I'm sure we can all agree that the person in question is dumb beyond belief and doesn't deserve any help... but! If you were to provide him/her/it with help in that hypothetical scenario, what hypothetical solutions would that person have available to fix the hypothetical quest problem?

one could hypothetically use the details button when highlighting their hypothetical esp in the file window. then, hypothetically, one could hit the delete key to mark the hypothetical satchel edit for "ignore". then press close, and OK to reload one's hypothetical esp. then save and we no longer have to refer to it in hypothetical terms

And it's hypothetically easiest to find that deleted record by sorting the details list for deleted items. One might even notice other deleted items there and hypothetically want to investigate those too.

I imagine that, if someone had such a problem, he'd want to kiss you both right now! :D
