Redguard BERSERKER!

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 2:00 pm

I was bored and put together a class idea. I have thought hard about this. I wanted to make a berserker class that would fit so well with the Light Armor perks. Let me know what you guys think (yes I know I will be writing a LOT here but if you take the time you may like what you see)

Redguard-
Adrenaline Rush The Redguard's stamina based racial ability
WW sprint For dodging massive attacks or closing distance without using stamina
elemental fury shout Shout at your dual wielded weapons for INCREASED ATTACK SPEED!
ethereal shout Trump card for when in trouble and need to avoid massive damage
Slow time shout to maximize your control and damage output

Light Armor Perks: 9 used
Agile Defender 5 ranks- +100% armor rating total
Custom Fit- +25 armor bonus total
Unhindered- Doesn't slow you down!
Wind Walker- Stamina regens 50% faster
Deft Movement- 10% chance of avoiding damage!

Note: didn't pick matching set, I want to mix and match light armor items
-------------------------------------------------------------------
One handed perks (dual wield): 15 used
Armsman 5 ranks- +100% damage total
Bladesman 3 ranks- Attacks with swords have 30% chance crit damage total
Fighting Stance- Power attacks cost 25% less stamina
Critical Charge- sprinting power attack double crit damage
Savage Strike- Standing power attacks +25% bonus damage & can decapitate
Paralyzing Strike- Backwards power attack +25% chance to paralyze
Dual Flurry 2 ranks- Dual wielding attacks are 40% faster total
Dual Savagery- dual wielding power attacks do 50% bonus damage

Note: focused only on the dual wielding damage effects here. No axes, no maces. Keep it specific so you can excel at one weapon type.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Alchemy (No names available for perks):11 used
Stronger potions 20% 5 ranks- 100% total
potions for health, magicka and stamina 25% more powerful-
poisons are 25% more effective-
poisons last twice as many hits-
two ingredients are gathered from plants-
50% resist all poisons-
all negative effects removed from potions and all positive from poisons-

Note: Poisons will be great! Think about two different types of poisons, one that damages say stamina and another that damages health? Potions for restoring stamina and health are also fantastic for a berserker in the middle of a big battle!

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Alteration: 3 used
Alteration Dual Casting- More powerful for both hands
Magic Resistance- Block 10% of spell effects
Atronach- Absorb 30% of magicka any spells that hit you

Note: mainly used for spells that shield and for utility. Magicka regeneration, blocking effects, etc.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Smithing (for weapons only: 6 used
Steel Smithing- craft weapons improve
Arcane smithing- Improve magical weapons and armor
Dwarven Smithing-craft weapons & improve
Orcish Smithing-craft weapons & improve
Ebony Smithing-craft weapons & improve
Daedric Smithing-craft weapons & improve

Note: Using smithing for weapons only since I will use LIGHT ARMOR, not heavy, Dragon bone armor is confirmed but not DRAGON BONE WEAPONS so I have left that out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Restoration: 5 used
Restoration Dual Casting- More powerful for both hands
Respite- Healing also restores STAMINA
Regeneration- healing spells cure 50% more
Recovery 2 ranks- Magicka regenerates 50% faster total
Avoid Death- once a day, heals 250 points of health if below 10%

Note: Restoration will help heal stamina, heal magicka, heal BETTER and give you another trump card in case you die. What better perk for a berserker than to avoid death and heal upon near death?!
------------------------------------------------------------------
And there you have it, a Redguard berserker class.

Total perks used: 49

IN A NUT SHELL

This class will offer decent defense against both magicka and physical. It will offer decent healing capabilities from both restoration and alchemy. It will give excellent damage output with dragon shout, one handed perks, poisons and maybe alteration (not sure of whole alteration magick list yet). It will also allow you to better upgrade and smith weapons making them deadlier as well as improve magical properties to already enchanted weapons! The more damage the better with this one. I hope you guys found this character class to be a fun idea. :)

This is why having all the perks is awesome. Super fun to read a character when you have all the perks your choosing listed.Good read and interesting character idea.

sorry guys I was busy editing it so that it was easier to read. I added color changes and whatnot to make it easier to separate names from descriptions. And thank you tool!

Nice ideas and perk selection, I like it. Looks like a successful character concept overall.

I wanted to prove to myself and maybe others that the stamina perks for light armor can be utilized appropriately while still having a melee class and not a ranger character. I saw potential

Good job! Until I get my hands on the game I do not know the effectiveness of each perk ans will withhold final judgement.

You're going to need the Novice, Apprentice, Adept and Expert http://imgur.com/Vg1Ly perks in order to get the perks you do want in that tree. http://i.imgur.com/Rz63t.jpg is not as strict but you will still need the Novice Restoration perk to unlock the others. You've also taken two ranks of Recovery but only counted it once.

That aside, the build looks pretty good actually :)

yeah I realized that. I am going to switch alteration out for something else. Maybe enchanting for the ability to increase weapon damage and such

Come on now: we all know Orcs are the best zerkers; common knowledge. :spotted owl:

Though...you did give me a good idea on how to complete my Orc zerker off. Why thank you.

haha they will be beastly as well (and no, im not calling the orsimer a beast race :P). I am glad I have at least given some people some starting points and something to utilize. I am going to switch out alteration because others have stated the tree doesn't work that way for that skill. I think enchanting will be better and will work with arcane smithing in the smithing skill tree. I chose redguard because of the adrenaline rush ability in unison with all of the other stamina based perks. I figured a berserker should continue to slash away at the enemy until either he is dead or the enemy is dead. Your Orc character should work just fine :) Thanks for your input bud.

I didn't think about using Alteration and Restoration like that. That's what you helped me with, if you wanted to know.

Fantastic build. You may want to drop alchemy so you have more points to get the perks you want in Alteration and Restoration as well as getting Dragon armor perk for Smithing (obviously light armor in your case). Other than that, super cool ideas. I really like the idea of using Restoration to help live through all the damage you'll be giving out and taking.

Hmm some interesting ideas from both of you. Maybe drop alchemy altogether and invest in alteration and enchating? I am uncertain if dragon armor comes in both light and heavy forms. Can anyone verify?
