Redguard Military build

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:20 am

I have seen a few people listing their rpg designs for others to comment. I have made a Redguard character who I have rpg'd to be Hammerfell military.

According to TES lore, every Redguard must brave a Dwemer ruin before embarking on a military career. From here I have made it that a Redguard must bring back dwemer scrap metal as proof from which they make their armor from = Dwarven armor.

Whereas most Redguard of Hammerfell wear light clothing due to the heat, those in the military have a full set of Dwarven armor to protect them during a full-on melee combat situation. Something brought in from the days when fighting against and driving out the Orsmer.

Name: Sheba

Primary Skills:
One Handed
Block
Heavy Armor
Smithing

Secondary Skills:
Destruction
Archery
Alteration

Background: Daughter of Timbuk II of Hammerfell, she enlisted into the Hammerfell military. As a fine warrior, she has been sent across the border into Skyrim disguised as a civilian on a mission to save a Redguard noble woman from a group of Alik'r assassins.

Upon saving Saadia the two fall in love and rather than return home, Sheba marries Saadia and the two set up home in Skyrim.

Nice concept!

Do you think you'll get much use out of Destruction & Alteration, though, if you're going sword & board? If you've got Archery for ranged, and one-handed/block for up close, you should be all set. And heavy armor would probably be plenty without Alteration.

Unless you have a specific play style in mind, of course.

Redguards now (for the first time ever, I believe) get racial boosts to 2 magic skills: Destruction & Alteration, I think. AFAIK lore hasn't changed, just the initial racial skill setup.

Redguards dislike Conjuration and ESPECIALLY Necromancy, they don't have problems with the other schools though.

OP, you know that Saadia sold Taneth out to the Aldmeri Dominion, right? And those Alik'r warriors aren't assassins. Maybe they are, but that was not the reason for their presence in Skyrim.

I don't really use destruction to be fair and I haven't perked up in it as of yet. As she is not really a magic user but relies on warrior stats, I have spare magic mana to use, so I do use alteration whilst going into battle to increase armor rating with oakflesh etc. The only other magic I use is restoration to heal after battle.

I should have listed archery as a primary skill.

They hate conjuration and illusion. They like Destruction & alteration.

I'm not sure who is right on this one. My first and main character who was a Nord took the side of the Alik'r as I heard it this way. It wasn't until my next character (a female Breton mage) that I heard it the other way around that she stood up against the Thalmor and it is them who hired the Alik'r.

Does anyone know who is telling the truth? You can't actually marry Saadia so I might look for a wife. I'll still keep it Redguard though. Any ideas who?
