Regarding complaints about Melee vs Magic

No offense to the MMO crowd or those new to the TES series. I feel like the people who are complaining that Melee is OP in comparison to magic are coming from MMO's. It seems that Oblivion drew in a lot of new players and Skyrim as well. I have seen posts talking about how Melee can kill a dragon in one hit and it takes mages 10+ seconds. I think, as has been said many times before, in a single player game, it doesn't really matter who does more damage. They provide different play styles. I don't know how well melee does in large assaults but my mage can stay alive vs 10+ mobs on Master (Unless it's a lot of bowman without me being able to move or take sufficient cover. I also had to quick load a few times for those times an arrow hit me ;; ) I've done this. I just have to wiggle a lot.

Getting back to point, I feel like a lot of the newer players and perhaps the MMO crowd are trying to push for something that hasn't really been the norm in TES games. I do agree that destruction isn't as good as it should be but I also feel that because of the other mage trees, were my destruction increased further, the game would be too easy. Perhaps the problem with it is that melee is too strong. If that's the case then yes, I would complain. I know I don't 'have' to min/max but it's a game style I enjoy. I just don't want content to be trivial when I do so.

I suppose I'm on the fence here. I can understand the complaints, but I can also see the other side. It's just become mind numbing to see so much in relation to mages and I'm worried that Beth will listen to the loudest voices and patch something unneeded or blow a 'fix' out of proportion.
