Regarding the perks for vampires.

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:44 pm

This is how much I understand so far: You get the option to become a vampire lord. When you become a vampire lord you receive a new perk tree. For these perks to take effect; do I have to be in the super-epic-vampire-lord form? Or can I walk around in regular vampire form and still be affected by these perks?

If you look at the list of perks they are all relevant to the Vampire Lord form:

The Vampire Lord perks only affect you in Vampire Lord form, likewise with your human form. The only thing that carries over from human to Vampire Lord form is the affects from the radiant vampire rings and amulets.

You gain perk experience through bite power attacks or using drain health to consume souls in vamp lord form.

I have only played the dawnguard side but became a vampire afterward to check it out. If I do recall, the mist form perk was usable in human form ( I think that was the only one). But don't quote me on that.

None of the vampire lord skills are usable in human form, they are locked out until you change to the VL.

I just checked and I can use mist form in human form. Never had that option untill I chose the mist form VL perk. Unless it is a glitch.

Its a glitch, mist form is only supposed to be available in VL form.

Its a glitch. I had the option to use bats when i wasn't in VL form. It was kinda funny, it made the noise and bats came flyiing out of me, but I didn't warp anywhere, so I started walking around just making bats fly about for fun lol. It went away after I reloaded later on.

Mist form in mortal form is a glitch. I've had VL glitch out before where I transform back to my dark elf form and my right hand is still armed with the VL drain spell and still works. I don't play a caster toon so I never really messed with that glitch.

Well I know what I'm gunna mod when pc version comes, I think that both werewolf and vampire lord perk tree should have things that work in humanoid form.

Mod vampiric grip for use in Human form and you would never be hit by anything again.

Would be too OP to have those Perks in human form, and there would really be no need to use those forms if you can use the Powers while not in them.

Well, you can still only Grip one thing at a time, unless it was modded to grab anything that came within its range regardless of whether something was already held. Vampiric Grip is already OP to begin with, imo. I'd like to know why I can pick up Giants but not horses, though...

Horses don't care for such things as physics and gravity, so they naturally ignore an invisible force trying to move them. lol

I just ran around various forts and Stormcloak / Imperial camps. Took me 1-2 hours, but I got there eventually.

what i tell people to do is just fly around and cast your drain life spell on anything that moves, and you'll get it fairly quick. Doing this i got all 11 perks around the 1 1/2 hour mark.
