Region Lock - Thread #2

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:57 am

Good job on getting the other thread locked, guys <.<

Anyway, I'm creating this thread again so that Gstaff will have some means of keeping us updated since he said he was looking into it.
Why aren't the countries that only have the English/American version of Skyrim available to them allowed to download Dawnguard?
We don't need any translations at all,yet will we really have to wait for the international release? That's not right :T

Please keep it civil, guys :V

And don't forget about FIGS (not forgetting Switzerland, etc, etc) or just people who have bought the game in English and would like to play the DLC(s) in English, not in their native language.

They're countries. Fairly certain one is France, then maybe Italy (?), then Germany, and then perhaps Spain...or Switzerland. But yeah, European places.

As I stated on the old topic (hope this one stays civil, it's silly to have it locked if we want Bethesda to aknowledge our issue) there's plenty of people who prefer to play the original version of a game, therefore they buy the english version of the game instead of the one localised in their language.

The italian version, for example, is good, but clearly involves less actors, worse (flat) acting, dialogues loose epicness, authenticity. It breaks the suspension of disbelief.

And also, what's gonna happen when the local version of this DLC will be available?
Will it work with the english disc? Will it be ignored or will it be downloaded and mess the english game up?

As I said elsewhere, the last patch, 1.6, was downloaded for my english version of the game even if I am in Italy, my Gamertag is italian and the patch for the italian version wasn't available.
Wouldn't it be just fair if the DLC worked the same way, i.e.: english disc > english patches > english DLC?

Hope we'll have some answers soon...

Yeah, i know... but it's not that we payed for that exclusivity either, so the wait does not sound bad if we are going to get this dlc in english... again, if we get this dlc in ENGLISH... yup :(
