Remapping Controls Outside of the Game

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 7:58 am

So I was mapping some keys and configuring some mods when I realized that I had accidentally remapped the key to bring up the main menu. Thus, it no longer uses the Esc key and I don't recall knowing which new key I assigned it to.

Therefore, I am wondering if there is a manner in which we can re-map keys via .ini files or through some other method that does not involve pressing random keys with the hope that the right one may come up.

Navigate to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\

Delete ControlMap_Custom.txt.

Navigate to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\Interface \Controls\PC\

Delete controlmap.txt.

Now just run Skyrim and setup your keys the way you want.

You can also use:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1380/?

or

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/88/?

to bind keys that you normally cannot in-game. !!!!
