Remember whenI think I've figured it out

Remember when in older TES games, notably Morrowind and Oblivion, when you went into a cave or dungeon, there were always these crazy hidden "bonus" items? And after finding a few of these highly unexpected caches you started searching every square inch of the world?

That's what's missing: I have yet to find any of these crazy fun little caches of goods anywhere. Only in the expected/main paths. Even the couple of "hidden" rooms which require shouting to get to (the two I've encountered thus far) yield a potion and ~10 gold. Climbing the tops of mountains by abusing geography garners no easter eggs, no items.

Everything is on/off a main walk-way. Nothing really hidden.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Or have you found some way, way out of the way cache of goodies?

Edit: Infinite Money bug doesn't count, haha.

Still haven't found any even marginally hidden treasures: nothing on the tops/edges of wall supports, or the tops of dressers. Nothing hidden way out of normal reach overhead in dungeons or caves. Those little gems were what made exploring fun.

Now it just feels rushed and toned down, as if people on consoles wouldn't enjoy such little treats- reaching a seemingly impossible place and finding daedric weaponry; checking for things poking out from under a bed, etc.

I love exploring, but it's less compelling now. Reminds me of Thief 3- the loss of content. :(
