Reminds me of

Love the trailer and I'm really looking forward to more information.
I also really love how the world is, really gives me flashbacks to ff6 and how a modern take of that could look.

What does Dishonored remind you about?

Thief, Bioshock, Half-Life 2... are the most remembered by pple.

And there are some people, that say it's remind them to Assassin's Creed... oh really? Why not Mass Effect too?? Mainstream gamers are so funny sometimes...

The art direction and the gameplay remind me of lots of games in a positive way, like the ones oldFox mentioned.

But the game world itself? Nothing comes to mind right now. It certainly reminds me of some locations of Arcanum, for example I could imagine that Tarant would look like Dunwall does here after a few decades. But all in all, Arcanum is a game that mixes classical 19th century steampunk with medieval fantasy. Dishonored doesn't do this at all.
In fact I'm surprised so many people even ask whether this was "sci-fi or middle ages" - what I'm seeing is a dystopian fantasy vision of an early 20th century society. It's not even very steampunky, if you think about it - there's more electricity than steam.

FF6 is the game that comes closest, but it's still very different... I don't know. The world seems pretty original to me.

Yeah, it pretty much reminds me of the people who are working on it. It looks like a cross between Deus Ex, Thief, Half-Life 2, and Dark Messiah. Such a shock! (actually, I don't think anyone from Thief is working on it, but Harvey Smith is Looking Glass alum, so close enough).

Deus Ex, Thief, Arcanum and Half-Life 2 of course (I never liked that game).

I would imagine Viktor Antonov has something to do with that

Haha, very true! But remember, that's just cinematics. I see lots of games in Dishonored. The art style and world seem pretty unique, but I see parts of pretty much what everyone else sees. I see Bioshock, combat like Dark Messiah, freerunning of Mirror's Edge, the Assassin's Creed style takedown in the trailer, and of course Half Life 2. The cars are extremely similar to HL2, and even the guards look like the combine! Thanks, Viktor Antonov! Maybe these guys are the ancestors of the Combine, and Corvo is an ancestor of some guy in an Animus-type machine, and it's really Assassin's Creed! Hopefully it's not...

What does it remind me of? Take "V for Vendetta", fold it into early 19th century London, add a pinch (or maybe a heapin' helpin') of steampunk, blend in some of an old video game whose title escapes me at the moment (I want to say "Ars Magica", but that's medieval, so can't be it -- the one with the rather dour bear who wears a top hat), mix with elements of just about every stealth game of the past 15 years and the result might be in the vicinity of the ballpark. It promises to be interesting. I look forward to seeing more of it maybe at E3.

Dishonored actually reminds me more of paintings and books I read/saw not video games I played.
For what I have seen Arkane has done a great job at crafting a unique experience and I would be doing them wrong pointing out how much it reminds me of games I already have.

That's exactly what Arkane was going for!
