REQ: Sydney for FNV?

They Sydney NPC Companion mod was one of my favorites from Fallout 3.

IF anyone can manage to import Sydney with the new system and her warm attitude it would be great.

As tempting as the idea sounded, I'm afraid that's not going to happen for a few reasons. Mainly:

1) Characterization and voiceover are the mod's biggest draws. Porting her to New Vegas presents problems with the story (as in how did she get there? Why cross half the continent in the first place? How did she even hear of Vegas when there's so little outside contact in the CW? Why would she join the Courier??) and how she's going to convey that the player. Since the voice actress is NOT in NV and does not reference west coast areas and characters in her FO3 dialog, I don't have any material to piece new lines together with ---- She's be reduced to the over-abused, copy-pasted "yes"'s and "sure"s that I'd sought to avoid in the first place. And even assuming I could cobble together some convincing lines, we run into the issue of:

2) Importing the voiceovers would be considered porting, and thus illegal, since those are assets exclusive to Fallout 3.

3) Vegas already has a gunslinging, whiskey-chugging gal to bum around with. There's also the added bonus of being related to a popular character from Fallout 2, having a lot to say on the location and factions, having her own questline, commenting on the main quest, possessing much more colorful dialogue, etc. which makes Sydney seem pretty redundant and low-quality by comparison.

Once I've gotten the chance to play New Vegas myself, I'll continue making mods for that game -- I'm not gonna companion-ize any more vanilla NPC's due to the compatibility headaches associated with this mod and a few popular mods that will inevitably make their way to NV, but I do have some from-scratch characters I'm interested in making, with the dialogue for one already in the writing process. I don't think I'm gonna bother with a WIP thread for it, considering how that turned out last time.
