Rescue From Fort Neugrad glitch.

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 10:35 am

I recently sided with the Stormcloaks and I've encountered yet another broken quest. Seems Bethesda thought it would be smart to fill Fort Neugrad with Bandits. This means I cannot free the Stormcloak Soldier prisoners, nor advance any further in the Stormcloak Civil War questline.

Any way to fix this?

Before starting this quest at all - go to the fort, kill every single bandit outside, inside and in the prison. Then active the quest with Galmar and when you go back there will be imperial soldiers there. Hope it works! It did for me!

I went back to a previous save file, killed the bandits (even used Aura's Whisper to be sure), accepted the quest and still no Imperial guards...

I have the same problem as Nileod & Plasmaflame. Ive cleared the hold of bandits but still no imperials & the prisoners wont continue outside as i cant get the key (A drop off an imperial).

It would be a great fix to PS3 & XBOX players to have a "Skip quest" option you can use to complete a quest incase of bugs. Many of these forums threads could be avoided.

That is an absolutely brilliant idea, a 'skip quest' or even 'reset quest' option would be fantastic for PS3 and Xbox users who do not have access to the god like PC console. A simple thing to implement, and would totally get rid of the "load a previous save" notion that can sometimes rob players who forget to save often of hours of gameplay. merki, you should suggest this as a new topic in the general section, if they can't open up the development console to us on the PS3 and Xbox, then menu options based on limited console commands may well be an option!

Progressed to this quest last night ended up in the same situation, thought I had killed all the bandits but after sneaking into the Fort the prisoners just repeating themselves over and over and no imperial, went outside there was one bandit up on the top of the fort I'd missed. Proper gutted I won't get to finish the civil war quest now without going back, I can't even be sure when I actually visited the fort before starting the quest. Its very frustrating as I was doing this questline to try and get a house in Windhelm.
