Rescue Mission Glitch? Could really use some help.

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 5:36 am

I took the rescue mission from Vilkas in the companions to rescue Nazeem from Shimmermist cave as he has been kidnapped. The marker was on the wrong place to start with, on the map it showed as being at bleakwind basin and when not on the map the marker lead into whiterun itself both being wrong. Ignoring this i found shimmermist cave to the East of whiterun and managed to clear it. I fought the boss at the end and when dead it popped up rescue nazeem complete and i now have to talk to him, only problem is as far as i can see he is not in the room. Hopefully its something im missing and it hasnt glitched but ive checked over the room twice and cant see him or any cages he may be in. The problem i have is even if he is not in the cave i have no way of knowing where he would be as my marker is still showing he is in bleakwind basin which seems to be completely wrong. Any one else had this problem or can maybe tell me where nazeem was for them? Having saved the game after beating the boss im worried it may have glitched therefore i cannot take another companion quest

Thanks

Haven't got the game yet, but you did say anyone...

Have you tried actually following the quest marker to where he's supposed to be? Maybe Radiant Story screwed up.

Yeh, the problem is it says on the map he is at a certain place, if i go there he is not there. He is also not in the place he should be inside shimmermist cave. I cant seem to find him anywhere and cant seem to find anyone who has done the quest to ask where he was for them unfortunately.

How Queer. I think this game is suffering the same clipping issues which Oblivion did. This is the second time where another forum dweller has lead me to think that an NPC has clipped through the world and is out of sight somewhere below the floor.

Same quest, same problem. But for me I had to get Carlotta Valentina from Redoran's Retreat. Did the dungeon, killed the baddies. But she's someplace near Bleakwind Basin, yet not actually there?

This one seems to be a common one from what I've found on internet trawls.

Yeh looks that way. i was hoping i was doing something wrong. If it was some lame quest i wouldnt mind too much but as this is a companion quest it stops me doing anymore therefore i can not experience becoming a werewolf unless i want to start the game again which i cant really be bothered with atm.

Having made full use of the wolfy powers in Morrowind, I looked forward to doing it in Skyrim, too. Fortunately, there's enough for me to do, to wait to become one again.
