If people are actually willing to pay that much, then what's the big deal? Not much different than the extra cost people are willing to pay when you slap an Apple logo onto anything.

I've played every single resident evil ever made, up to 4. Played it and loved it, but I never got 5. I probably won't get 6, either. Why? I dunno. I guess I just grew up and the thrill of shooting zombies wore off.
Yes, that's possible.

$1300 for phone cases and a leather jacket? Who the [censored] would be dumb enough to pay...oh never mind, plenty of people would.

Frankly, that's pretty awesome. If it was less expensive I'd actually consider it. And by less expensive, I mean no more than $400 for the whole package.

Really? "Sick bastards" because they have an expensive jacket included for people who are comfortable spending $1300 on it? How dare they have high prices! Those monsters! Someone stop them!
Oh wait. Just don't pay for it.

Capcom lost my respect when they showed they stopped caring about the Megaman franchise.

Ah the mods changed the title.

Oh them mods.

Capcom lost my respect when they showed they stopped caring about the Megaman franchise.

What would you have them do with it? It's done. Time to move on. In Mega Man, it was interesting to have a little blue robot man who absorbed the powers of his foes and used them in a systematic way to defeat his others, it builds on the basic concept of Judo - my favorite style of martial arts. In Mega Man 2, it was the same thing. Again for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and now 8. Then they released Mega Mans 1-4 with the exact same format on the game boy. Then the X series happened. Exact same format, but instead of human-robots, you fight robot animals. X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6... it just keeps on going... same format, same hero, same baddies (OMG PROTOMAN IS ZERO?!?! NEVER SAW THAT COMING!!) I'm not saying we should just do away with Mega Man and forget about the lil blue bomber. But would you REALLY have them add to all that?
Or perhaps you'd prefer if they deviated from the format.
Mega Man Legends, anyone?

BTW the same is true of Devil May Cry and Resident Evil. It's just Capcom's style. If I ran a company, that'd be my style too. Why?
If you do something well - Don't [censored] with it!! That's a rule. DMC and RE are some of my favorite games - ever. I'm just glad they're onto a new genera with Dragon's Dogma.

That's pretty much what I mean't. Also using bad box art Megaman in Street Fighter X Tekken was kind of a big middle-finger.

Sure, why not? Legends and Legends 2 were great games (and Legends 3 surely would have been as well, had they not cancelled it). Prior to them disowning the series, they also had Mega Man Universe in the works. Building custom Mega Man levels and sharing them would have been fantastic. There's still Mega Man Online, which could also be pretty interesting, but that's Korea-only at the moment (assuming it also hasen't been cancelled).

Contradictory much? That's pretty much exactly what you're saying.

Granted, I always thought Capcom's repetitious method for producing sequels to the Megaman franchise was pretty cheap too. But that doesn't mean the franchise should just stop. And Capcom doesn't have to completely re-engineer the franchise to make a new and interesting sequel, either. Game design is an art - Capcom could just expand on one of their greatest premises (Megaman X!) and produce a really epic new game without sacrificing anything artistically.

On a sidenote, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FpigqfcvlM is pretty relevant to what I'm talking about. I demand that you all watch it now, 'cause it's entertaining and the author is a genius.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would claim to dislike it now, but when it first came out, people hated it, mostly because http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheyChangedItNowItsvcks.

This. I was never a fan of the arcade-style Mega Man games, but thought that Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 were fantastic in their own right.

If you, wingus, Xrayman and the other 108,000 members of that Facebook group are willing to pony up the millions of dollars for the only copies in the world that would sell, I'm sure Capcom will indulge you. Sadly, RE5 sold 5.8 million copies so that's where the money's going to go.
