Resistance to magic.

I recently created a Breton (a race that I've never played as before) battle mage/mystic archer that I'm hoping I can take quite far in a dead-is-dead character. It seems that nearly all of my characters are slain by NPC's wielding magic. I chose a Breton for their 25% resistance to magic.

My question, for those who know, is what's the highest percentage I can get in terms of resisting magic? If I'm a Breton and I take the Lord Stone (another 25% resistance to magic I believe) does that "stack" to put my magic resistance to 50%? Or does one negate the other?

If I have a Breton with the Lord Stone and I'm wearing boots that are fully enchanted with certain magic resistance, say 30% resistance to cold and something else with 30% resistance to shock would that put my shock and cold resistance up to 80%?

Any help would be appreciated as I typically destroy everything in my path until I run into a high-level mage. Then I run away like a little girl.

85% is the max.

you can get 15% from the book of love quest
up to 30% from alteration perks

and rest from enchants and lord stone.

I've read that resist elements stacks with magic but I'm not quite sure how exactly it stacks (like whether it's additive or multiplicative or something else)

Actually if you acquire the Nercromage perk after becoming a vampire you can become immune to magic
Then weakness to fire wouldn`t matter unless of course you`re set on fire by something nonmagical

The atronoch perk in alteration is excellent as well it converts magic damage into magicka for you in a percentage if I recall right, either way my mage is a breton, with all the alteration perks for atronoch and reduce magic damage and a 40% magic reduction amulet I created from enchanting and I can walk into room full of wizards and laugh at them, its the heavy swords/arrows ect I have to worry about those hit me like a ton of bricks wearing only robes.

there are also two seperate resistance to magic enchants, so if you get them both and have the dual enchant perk, it is easy to achieve 85% magic resistance with enchant only. You get one type of resist magic from disenchanting any piece of magic resistance gear and the other type is from the

Breton - 25% Racial passive magic resistance
Greater Magic Resistance - 30% (Alteration perk)
Agent of Mara - 15% Magic Resistance
Lord Stone - 25% Magic/Physical Resistance

And if you feel like can get the Atronoch perk or stone and you pretty much absorb everything for giggles after that. You can also get the resistance thing in the shield tree too, but I don't use shields so above is pretty much all I've ever gotten. It is more then enough to be honest, even on master difficulty, for me at least.
