Resisting magic.

I'm a bit confused about the difference between resist magic and other resistance enchantments such as resist frost, fire, and shock. Why would anyone ever want just resist shock, frost, or fire? Doesn't resist magic cover all of the schools of destruction? Am I missing something here? Also, the Wiki says that "Resist magic 'stacks' with resist frost, fire, and shock." What exactly does that mean?

Resist Magic has a base magnitude of 8%, Resist Fire etc a base magnitude of 15% so if you're enchanting them yourself the Resist Element effects will be more powerful. Since some foes (like Necromancers with Frost) tend to rely on a particular element it can sometimes be worth having good resistance against 1 element rather than mediocre resistance against all of them.
