Respawning Containers in Home?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:50 pm

I have the PS3 version so there's no way for me to check in the construction set what the containers are slated to do.

Can anybody tell me:

1. Are all of the containers in Breezehome non-respawning or is it only the chest by the bed?

2. Are any of the containers in your room in the College of Winterhold non-respawning?

I'd like to be able to store all of my ingredients in the Alchemist satchel on the Alchemy table in Breezehome, but I'm afraid it'll respawn. Same with the chest on top of the book shelves.

From what I have experienced they do not respawn, so feel free to fill the containers with loot.

I've got Potions stored in the chest on top of the bookshelf and ingredients stored in the satchel and there hasn't been a problem in a couple of weeks in game time.

Well that's because the normal cell reset is like 720 ingame hours. If I had the CS I could see if they had ownership and respawn applied to them so I could know for sure.

I have not had any problems with containers in my Breezehome. I have stored items in multiple containers in my house, and even purchased upgrades to my home, and nothing as disappeared. I have 30 hours of play in the game and no problems yet.

It happend to me, I lost all my ingredients from my room at the College. I kept'em in 3 barrels at the right corner. So avoid the barrels. I'm on xbox though.

Can I hijack your thread for a moment? :D I am having a huge issue with my freestanding items just...flying around randomly when I enter and exit my house. If I put food on a table for instance, when I leave and come back, the food is all over the floor. The havoc engine apparently resets with my stuff IN THE AIR and then it just bounces around. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or can someone tell me a console fix for this? Thanks.

I don't know if this helps or not but in Oblivion, open-topped sacks were safe for storing stuff indefinitely. Barrels and chests generally were not, although this depended where these barrels and chests were. Most of them were not okay, but some of them were. I've just been trying to play it safe in Skyrim so far.

I use the house and no problem. I don't have the room but I have read others saying that it's not safe.

The chest up on the shelve in the alchemy laboratory stole all my ingredients.
I had a whole ton of ingredients and they just vanished :(

It does hold all my other stuff though... just the ingredients that vanish.

I just sort all my items in random places in my house. All my ingredients all in a bedside container, all weapons are in a chest, and so on
