Retaliation DLC is great !

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:08 pm

For the ones who do hesistate to buy this map pack: It is beautifull.
Much variation in the maps at different heights. Great graphics. Many shortcuts.
I like it.

Of course we all want it for free, but I couldn't resist the seduction. But I have no regret.
See you! May be at "transit" ( very nice map )

Still too expensive for four maps only, all copy-pasted from the SP. And without paypal as payment, I won't even think about buying it.

Well, from what I saw in the trailer, the maps DO look good (as they did in the SP :P) - it's still not worth to pay 10 bucks for them, espically as they are just copy-and-paste maps rather entirely new ones.

Then again, what do you expect from players, who expect sequels on a yearly basis, don't know that mappacks used to be free, call updates "DLC"* regardless of size and think that CoD is realistic?

*Personally, I put DLC between "update" and "addon" - it should contain more than maps and tweaks, but still be too small to be worth called a real addon (which should provide at least 40% of the original contents amount and either cost 50% and require the original to access the original content)

really too expensive?, millions of people dished out $15 for the halo mappacks, which only had 3 maps, zero people complained, i think i see now why Crytek is abandoning our PC community, who would have known some of you were a freaking bunch of broke crybabies, its only $10, and the game,.. is,... not,.... broken, your guyz rigs are broken, and maybe your internet svcks.

You are aware that the Halo-Mappacks
a) are all made from SCRATCH rather just taking from the SP-campaign (and usually feature a lot of new things within the maps itself, e.g. a zero-gravity-room)
b) are the only way to get new maps for console-players while PC is going to get A MAP-EDITOR TO CREATE MAPS FOR FREE?

I don't really see why I should pay 10 bucks for something I can get free otherwise anyway AND already have.

i resigned, i will buy the mappack and dlcs. cause
The game is much fun, and i bought it, so it doesnt help.

But it was definitely the last Crytek game, i bought so short after release.
next time i′ll wait 1 or 2 month and read the forums accurately before.
To be not disappointed as much as now.

they already made an announcement that they guarantee you wont get hacked, and another thing, all REACH MP maps are direct ports of the single player, the DLC being the exception, and who cares if they are ports, they work.

P.S.- transit map is not a port, and neither is shipyard.

rather just taking from the SP-campaign

I wish people would stop this rumour as it's just lies

The Crysis 2 DLC maps are themed on the Single Player Map, they're not just cut from.

There's a big difference between themed and pure copies.

It was Crytek that released those free 5kmX5km and bigger maps on crysis and crysis wars MP.... Now they want 10 euros/bucks for maps that are 100 times smaller? No thanks.

Yeah.. I want it too, I am holding off though on purchasing it. I don't have any issues at all, my Crysis 2 game runs fine 99% of the time, but others are having issues, alot of them, which means they WILL NOT be purchasing the DLC, which = no players on DLC servers?

When you played it.. how many other players were there (be truthful!)?

When I see Crytek launch it's next patch and people start to say "it works", "finally I can play", etc.. then I will go get the DLC. Until then, I doubt you'll see many players. I can barely find more than 30 servers @ peak playing times with the regular maps, I can't see how the DLC servers could have players in it?

You're under the illusion that PC users are svckers like console users. £8 for a map pack containing 4 maps is ridiculous.

Fine, let Crytek go purely console, especially if they make such a arse of their ported games like Rockstar did.

PC users have plenty of money, since we spend a lot on our rigs but we're not cash cows like console owners, who don't give a crap about what they buy and what state it's in. Speaking of crap ports, Brink was removed from Steam UK, which says a lot.
