returing/selling weapons or armor...... (in dead money)

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:09 pm

I have been playing for a while, prospecting/scauaging as I have assembled my 3 companions. I have a bunch of stuff I don't need weapons wise....I have 100 unarmed (level 31 now) with very little melee (like 30) and I have extra armor I don't need.

where can I unload it and get either chips or food or something useful?

I found I can return certain items like casualwear and cigs.....is there something like that for weapons?

In the Ruined Cafe in Puesta del Sol there is a vendor that you can trade with. He won't have caps, but he will have pre-war money. There are other vendors, but this is the only one I can give a location for.

There is one in the Villa Square area just north east of the fountain. Its worth keeping some clothing and cigarette cartons/packs though as these can be traded for chips. Youll need the codes for the clothing tho (not armour).

Inside the casino (at the bar area) is a vendor as well. I just traded everything I didn't want for pre-war money.
Pre-war money can also be exchanged for chips (and vice-versa).

Buying chips with Pre-War money isn't cost-effective.........but you profit like crazy from cashing in your chips before you leave Sierra Madre as 1SM Chip = 1 Pre-War currency = 10-12 caps, but only if you cash the chips in at the Casino.

I know, but I meant that if you don't have any chips to use and would like to (for instance) buy a weapon mod in Dead Money,
you could exchange some pre-war money for chips and buy the mod, and then return the rest of your chips for pre-war money.

You can exchange chips for pre-war money (and vice-versa) at the casino cashier's office.
