Returning to Skyrim - Seeking opinions!

Post » Fri Dec 07, 2012 2:27 pm

Hello everyone!

As the title suggests, I have been absent from the world of Skyrim for many a month. Honestly, I never concluded the MQ in Skyrim since launch, yet. I stopped playing because my job, school, and family consumed all of my time. I have however procured some freetime and am delighted to return back to Skyrim.

However, a few things. First off, I feel like the game is really clunky (maybe that's not the best word choice, I can't think of another way to descrbie it) for me. Or kind of... awkward. I'm talking gameplay here.

1) I was thinking it might be better to reroll so I can play without continuing my character that I stopped several months ago, that way I can start fresh and do everything in one shot and do Dawnguard and everything, and then finish up the MQ. I just feel detached to my already-leveled toon since it's been so long.

What do you guys think I should do? Obviously the choice is ultimately mine I'm just seeking opinions. Should I reroll since I've been gone so long to start over and experience it fully, or continue my other character who feels awkward and detached since it's been so long?

2) Where and at what lvl should I/do I begin Dawnguard? I have it installed and everything, but I just haven't had a chance to play Skyrim since before Dawnguard came out like I said in the first sentence.

3) Where and when do I begin Hearthfire? What locations can I make a house at, and how do I begin the process? I'd love to do it as soon as possible if making a new toon especially.

I appreciate all replies, and look forward to hearing some opinions and advice!

Thanks in advance, Z

As much as I appreciate your piece of advice, and hear where you're coming from, I'm going to at the very minimum complete the MQ once. I won't simply not do the MQ, I've done it in every single TES game, and will do it in every future TES game (or any game for that matter). Even if it isn't much of a story, I still appreciate the bit of story it has. No offense, I hear where you're coming from and don't doubt it doesn't give much of a reward, if any. I still want to do it though.
