Reverse Stereo R<-->L

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:10 am

The sound in Skyrim is reversed and because of the way my desk is set up, it would be kind of a PITA to physically switch my speakers so I'm hoping I can control it via the ini.

Is there an ini tweak to reverse the sound Right<-->Left?

Must be a wire somewhere is switched so fixing it would mean fixing the wires so they lead to the correct speaker or swapping the position of the speakers.

Are you sure the sound is switched only in Skyrim?

Go into your computer's Control Panel and test the speakers there, and make sure that when you click the right and left speaker images on the screen the sound comes out from the correct speaker.

If it doesn't, it's worth physically switching your speakers.

THis ^ -- Skyrim should be using the same channel info that every other program is using so chances are everything is switched currently and you just had not noticed before --- So you'lll want to swap the location to correct it ---- Depending on the setup you should be able to do it easily -- Just find the location at which there is a plug in the wiring for the separate channels -- ie. if using a sub woofer that has pass throughs for the left and right channels switch the 2 wires there -- if using a stereo system there should be somewhere to swap the plugs easily - if the speakers each have separate wiring swap the wires --- there are many ways to swap it and depending on the setup which method is easiest will depend on the accessibility of the wires at various stages but changing it should be as easy as swapping 2 plugs at some point of the install.

Thanks... I tested the sound in the audio properties and you guys were right. I'll have to swap the speakers. 8-/
