Reviews ETA?

Post » Thu Oct 04, 2012 3:45 am

I've read somewhere that the reviewers couldn't post critics before the 8th october. Is that right ?
And will you still buy the game if it has mediocre review (I don't hope so)?

I belive the embargo is on sunday.. so expect alot of reviews next monday.
I'm guessing an avarge of 81% on Metacritic.. don't think all reviewers like this game.

Doubtful. We'll see. I'm guessing high eighties, low nineties.

The only review I care about in regards to a game this close to the Thief series is Razorfist on Youtube.

I hope you are right, the higher the score, the more people will buy it and the more likely hat we will see a sequel.

I hope you are right

I think everyone is finally tired enough of COD #93938 and WOW #20456 that something that's different enough and interesting enough will finally get great reviews. (I just hope this is the title on which Bethesda finally decided to fulfil its QA duties.) [There's no chance of this being as buggy as Skyrim. I'm pretty sure it'll run nigh impeccably. But reviewers love to base their reviews around bugs, so I hope this has as few of them as possible.]

He's a big reason I started playing Thief.

I'm pre-ordering so reviews won't affect me one way or the other, but for the game's sake I hope it gets good ones.

I have already bought it. And if reviewers say this game is stupid, I just wouldn't believe them. Only if Total Biscuit and Angry Joe, PC gamer and IGN all obliterate it, I might regret my choice.
I'll ignore anyone else, and if even one of them gives it a five or higher I'll consider it worth it until I can play for myself.

There's only one thing i want to read in the reviews; a rough estimate on how long it is. Not that it'll change my mind about my purchase, it won't, but it's just something i like to learn as early as possible

If you don't trust the word of the creators OR the experience from Dan Todd who took 22 hours to complete without a single kill,
then who can you trust? :P They said 12-24 hours, more than that if you play moderately and explore alot ^^

I never bother with ratings, usually. Word of mouth by players has always proven far more reliable to me. It's why I got Rage and I am happy with my decision because it is a great game.

Only reviewers I kinda trust are RPS and Giantbomb. But for Dishonored, I'm more interested in the SneakyBastards review.

No problemo, btw Dan Todd took 22 hours without a single kill AND without exploring,
plus he knew where he was going and what the mission was about etc.
So if you play moderate(meaning not bullrushing through) and you explore each area for runes and charms,
It's easily above 20 hours as you can see ^^

I feel kind of the same way. Also, if you find yourself pre-ordering a game, chances are you're going to buy and play it despite the reviews - in my opinion. :)

The ONLY things I can think of is, annoying bugs(which is unlikely imo, since they openly displayed several missions at Cons etc.)
The story would be slowly driven off in a boring daze, since it's 12-24 hours(which is like..way under 50/50 chance since it's.. it's Dishonored!! I mean.. come on, it just CAN'T be boring with that gameplay and depth in the world!! )
And else.. nothing really, it looks totally freaking amazing in every way!!!

I'm going to guess.... high 70's to low-mid 80's. I've got the feeling the complexity isn't going to appeal to everyone.

What "complexity"?
Wutcha talkin' bout' foo'?? :stare:
In all seriousness, I see it as a straight forward smooth stealth game

Reviews tend to ruin a game for me. I don't want to go into a game thinking "oh man, the guy on the Internet said that there is a lot of pop in with this game" because then I just notice it THAT much more than I already would've.
