RHCP - can't buy The Knife of Dunwall from Steam

Post » Tue May 07, 2013 4:57 am

What the topic title says. Despite the fact that the owners of the RHCP version were promised that we'll have the DLC the same day as the rest of the world, we still can't purchase the game from Steam.
Can we expect an input from the publisher on what exactly is happening or what is going on and who's fault is that we still cannot get the DLC?

We're working to find out what's going on. We anticipate it will still release today.

Hang in there.

As noted previously, it's coming a little bit afterwards. I don't have the date, but I'll find out.

Seems like Steam needs to stop being such _put_any_bad_word_here_in_plural_. Personally, I'm sick of them, their "support", their fraud actions and their "regional restrictions", most of which are not related to actual game publishers\developers. Anyone with me for a worldwide petition? Or maybe even boycott? And DLC is not available for Russia at all now.
Is it true, that game publishers\developers have absolutely no power over Steam?.. I mean over Valve....

Okay this just gets more and more confusing now. Someone at the Steam Community page for Dishonored said that he reached Cenega and 1C regarding the DLC, and they said that they will release it when it will be done (localization for local languages, etc.) in the next few weeks.
Seriously, what the hell?

I don't get it... If the release date wasn't supposed to accommodate the localisaiton process why would Bethesda announce the same date as release day?

I just want the English version. Please?

I don't understand it either... it would be basically Bethesda's word against Cenega's.

Anyway, here is the community page where I have found this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/205100/discussions/0/810921274041395754/#c810921274042043823
There are probably more on this on the RHCP community page, but I can't read them since I don't know russian.

If this is merely a Steam problem, wouldn't it be fixed by now? I mean Gstaff acknowledged the so called "problem" long ago, is it really taking that long for everyone who's involved to just let us get the game as the rest of the world? Maybe I'm just jumping at shadows here, but this is really weird..

And on a personal note.. I really don't like to say this, I'm a really patient type, but my patience is wearing thin. I calmly waited months for City Trials, all for nothing, I didn't rant a single word for it, and now Bethesda cannot keep the promise they made for today. At this point, I don't really care if it's Bethesda's fault or not, really... I know it's just a game, but as a customer of a product, I feel deeply sad and disappointed.

We're getting closer to an ETA on when the right RHCP versions will be on Steam. I'm told that it will be the localized version for the territory, as that's the version of Dishonored that's sold on the store.

Stay tuned.

All I can point to, is this: https://twitter.com/dishonored/status/311855285402755075

So this just means that we officially got screwed and fooled. Delaying a game is one thing, but delaying it on the release day after a promise is a thing I cannot stomach anymore. Were you really hard at work to get this released as promised? Really? Thank you dear publisher, you sure know how to alienate your customers. I think I'm done.

I completely agree with you. If Bethesda won't release this DLC till the end of this week, I'll use alternative ways. If they don't want my money - so be it.

Fantastic. I play English version of Dishonored, why do I have to wait for localization? Journalists contacted 1Ass and obtained information that localized version of this DLC will be available in A FEW WEEKS.

Sorry, we found out after the fact that the information on the tweet for DCT was inaccurate.

To update, Valve says the proper release should be up for RHCP in the next couple hours. With this, you have English voiceover and localized text. This should be how the RHCP release of the game was delivered, too.

Enjoy.

Now this is a nice surprise, I thought it will take days, weeks, according to those who contacted Cenega.

Thank you for letting us know Gstaff, and all whos involved thanks for the work!

Yes! I just bought KoD, and verified positively that it works like a charm.

Thanks Gstaff. Is there any info about the Trials, though? That's still not on Steam. How inaccurate was the tweet?

The tweet was based on info I received and later that day I found out it was inaccurate. On the day I http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1415366-dishonored-rhcp/page__view__findpost__p__22376834, I did come back into the forums to clarify that I received misinformation and that it wasn't going to be on the same day as The Knife of Dunwall -- that it would be coming a bit later. Unfortunately, I didn't clarify the tweet.

Still looking for a final date on the release. I'll share it as soon as I have it. I'll tweet it, too

Oh! Right, I misunderstood the clarification earlier after all silly me.

Well, here's to hoping that a date will be known soon. Keep us updated.

I have the Knife of Dunwall in my inventory (I received it as a gift), but I can't add it to my game list. As I see there are lot of problems with even buying KoD in my country (Poland) but I have to ask... will I have to buy another copy of this DLC or is there any chance that this copy will star working with my RHCP Dishonored version?

Exactly the same situation... (except I'm living in Belarus ) And I don't know what to do with that gift. Is it replaceble to RHCP one or something else...

You know, I have more than 250 games in Steam, many Bethesda's titles (I think that was last one I've bought)... but all that situation with RHCP remindis me some kind of reservation or ghetto for Eastern Europe users. Btw - "dishonored" is a good semantics for that case.

You'll need the RHCP version. You might be able to take that up with Steam Support

Same problem. In Russia.

Game - is. DLC - can't run.

Change language from Russian to English and and back does not change anything.

Out of curiosity, why was the RHCP version even created? If Skyrim could be offered as the same item for everyone (admittedly, after months of complaining), why can't Dishonored?
