Looks good, but also looks like it's trying to pull from Pitch Black (which many consider the best of the series).

Reminds me of when they rehash the previous movie but using alternate universe.
I'm a Riddike fan, but man that's a total Pitch Black ripoff fo sho. They basically kept the same plot and atmosphere and tweaked it a lil bit. I'll definitely see it, I'm just sayin "dayum."
I'm kinda disappointed I guess, but I can't fully judge it anyway. I'm just stunned... these heartless mercs (who, BTW, need to be heartless) decide to cancel his beheading and cut him loose so he can help them survive... which means they all suddenly trust each other? So what happens when the Hallmark cards run out, will arteries start popping? Christ, at least in Pitch Black it was a crew of innocent civilians who pretty much had to trust him, and each other. The real Riddike would kill them ASAP and worry about taking on the planet of "sleeping beasties" later. Hmm, lemme guess--these new creatures are in hibernation and only wake up during certain times or events. *shakes fist*
lol when the one guy said "Lets cut him loose" I thought, Umm you do realize that you should be more afraid of Riddike that those beasties right?
But I guess under the circumstances I would have cut him loose too. I would have been like, My life is worth more to me than your bounty. You help me get through this and you'll never see me again.
Wasn't there another trailer a while back that showed Vaako (Necromonger commander) going after him?
Is this a reboot or something then? You figured the NEcromongers would be after him, not another bunch of random ass mercs.
Unfortunately Riddike knows better, these wanted fugitives always know better. Never trust mercs, ever. He'd kill them all in 2 minutes and worry about everything else later. And if those mercs don't know any better, they're horrible mercs. I wish they brought Toombs back, at least he was entertaining.
And if you noticed, Kara Thrace was about to intervene during the beheading thing when everything starts to go down. If she's a merc, she's not a very good one either.
I don't know about you, but when I heard Glad0s' voice I knew I needed to see that movie.
My understanding was at the end of CoR when he killed their leader he became their leader, which is why they all bowed to him. So I dont think they would be after him.
I know, I'm just saying if I was put in the situation of having to let him loose and I was a merc, thats what I would do.
I didn't want to dig too deeply and ruin things for myself, but my assumptions were that he was either betrayed by Vaako or he decided to leave them altogether, which pissed them off. As far as why a necro is there on the planet, I have no idea. Unless that's actually the very beginning, then I suppose he left after he assumed Riddike was dead. Cuz, you know, leading-role heroes tend to survive when bad guys never check for a pulse (see James Bond films.)
If I was a merc in that situation, I'd run far away and take my chances, which would be the same as suicide. Deadth by Riddike or by some creepy crawly, hey at least I can check out some scenery before taking a dirt nap.
Pft, I'd rather die by Riddike... Sitting around a table with dead famous people talking about how they died... Then it's my turn, "Yeah, I got killed by Riddike". I'd rather be taken out by a bad ass than some random beasty.
If such a table exists, sure. Maybe there's nothing, there's eternal blackness... oh noes, I'm scaring myself again.
Right, yeah. We can complain all day on what we think it's about, but we're still going to see it regardless. Even if it svcks badly I'll still probably watch it a few more times. I don't think it'll be all that bad, though. But hey we can still have fun right here mumbling about Riddike.
I think the trailer is hiding something. From what I've read we're supposed to see Furya his homeworld, we aren't seeing it in the trailers. So perhaps this is a ploy for the real movie? Not to mention the person who played Vaako is back.
I'll probably catch it on RedBox, as I rarely get a chance to go to the movies. I'll probably still like it, I am holding out some hope that they add a little bit more to keep it from being a revamp.
For all we know we've seen the 10 minute intro. Hahahah.
Yep, that's who I think is behind the whole "leave Riddike to die" thing. It's just a theory, but Vaako was like among the most respected, plus his girl is always whispering sneaky strategies into his ear. *gasp* which means Vaako's gf was behind it, which means, someday, if Vaako angers her, she'll kill him and take total control. I think I just glimpsed CoR4.
It also says he will go back to Furya to seek vengeance. It would seem like an awfully weird movie if we spend more than a short amount of time with him on this planet. Unless they mean that is the sequel hook.
Not so much a fan of The Chronicles of Riddike but Pitch Black was great.
I have to agree that this is a complete rip off from Pitch Black's story.
