So I went to give that boar, Bilgamuk back to the Rieking chief, and everything was fine. But he won't initiate the next quest now. He will begin speaking about gathering "redgrass" for his God dance. But after the converstation is over, he simply keeps asking where bilgamuk is, and won't continue the quest line... I've reloaded, loaded really old saves and went to Solthiem new, attacked him and used calm. But non of it has worked... I really want a Riekling follwer, but I can't get the game to work... It's also on the Skyrim wiki and UESP that this exists. But there's no solutions posted anywhere?

What happened when you got him the grass?

Nothing, the quest won't progress to that point. He merely get's to the point where he says, "Here, this is what redgrass looks like." Then the conversation ends without advancing the quest. You can repeat the convo as many times as you wan't, but it won't give you the objective to go get any redgrass. He will only make remarks about you not having gotten his boar yet in between you saying, "I've got that animal back for you." The cheiftan is acting like you never fetched the animal for him. I've even tried using different meats to bring the animal back with... Nothing I can think of will fix this. Unless someone wants me to upload my save file, they can open it on their PC, and use console commands to progress the chiefs quest.

Bump for help, whether it be developer or community member. I would like to continue playing the game I bought...

Ive had the same kinda problem but with miraak battle, this is a bit drastic but I had to do a new save

You want help from Bethesda this is not the place to ask, you contact Bethesda Support direct and see if they can help with the problem.

Did you actually put the beast in his pen? Or just rush off once you got back to the hall? And the chief talks about him anyway, did you go get the grass and bring it back, whether the journal told you to do it or not.

Yes, I make sure the beast is in the pen, I've stood there with him for 24 hours in game, and then "waited" for another 24 hours in real time. I've even brought 10 redgrass ahead of doing ANY of the chief quests, but this still won't activate it. I've even created a new save, gone to the island, and tried it, but it didn't work there either...

How did you create the new save? Created a new character or gone back to a save before Dragonborn was installed and then tried it?

When you downloaded Dragonborn, had you already updated the game to version 1.8, and did you then restart the game if you had it running?

If the DLC was not correctly installed it can cause bugs.

Still have this problem unfortunatly, and I also have the miraak battle one... Can't progress anymore in the game now...
