Are they like the Ewoks of Skyrim (by which I mean Solstheim, of course)?! I bumped in to a few of the friendly little guys and if I can't be one I definitely want one as a follower - hell I'd rather adopt one of those little guys than those whiny orphans back in Riften - anyone agree?

I dunno, they seem to scale, pretty tough little buggers when you pick one up around L55 or so.
