So with all the western guns, the cowboy perk and Raul the Ghoul's bandito outfit, who is going to make a cowboy/gunslinger character? I had one in Fallout 3 but with this one taking place in New Vegas and the aforementioned features above, it looks like I am bringing back '' Texas Creek '' Johnson for one more playthrough. Mabye I'll change his name though.

Cal Mancy, hes a charismatic, gambling degenerate. He has a big mouth that will get him into problematic situations. He has a bit of a gold bugg and will check out every mine/cave he sees.

Northrop Frye, a mean bastard in the tradition of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. He's all three. Will probably look like The Bad.

In F3 my cowboy was a cliche good guy, but honestly that doesnt really make any sense. Why would this wasteland philanthropist be dressed as a cowboy in the middle of DC? So this time my cowboy will be a "Liberty Valance" bandit El Jefe, with Raul as his trusty "Jacopa" side-kick.

Hatchets?! Oh god, I hope this means there's also a tomahawk, since we do have throwing spears. (I'm referring to the Cowboy perk's effect, which includes effecting hatchets).

And I'll definitely be playing a gunslinger character. As for his backstory, I'll have to work on that this week. :D

Heres my beef, cowboy/gunslinger builds obviously use fire arms skill, explosives for the TNT, unarmed for bar room brawling, and melee for hatchets etc but this leads me to a problem. How am I suppose to master all of these? In F3 I just used small guns and unarmed. I guess Ill just go for fire arms and explosives and if I have points left Ill go for melee and unarmed.

I might take the perk, but I'm not going to play an exclusively cowboy character. My character is a primarily Energy Weapons guy that happens to have a soft spot for Guns.

Well you could always make Guns, Explosives, and Melee your tag skills, and then place your skillpoints. I know we can't level up every skill to 100%, but I'm sure we can level up 3-4 skills to their max. As for Unarmed, if there's any points left, put them in there.

I'm actually planning on 4 or 5 playthroughs. #1 My Energy Weapons/some Guns character #2 Melee #3 Evil #4 Ex-Enclave soldier that kills all impure wastelanders with his massive stockpile of Energy Weapons #5 hardcoe version of #1 (might be bumped up to higher priority to get those 100 GP) Cowboy just isn't that appealing to me. The perk sounds really useful, but I might not even take it if there's others that I find more useful.

Say hi to Jayne Eastwood. Wears Desert Ranger armour (though I have a soft spot for Easy Pete's outfit) and a cowboy hat, has the Cowboy perk and uses revolvers, with a laser rifle stashed away for when I want to make an entrance (I call her "Vera").

Raul is my companion of choice, naturally.

Sounds like a plan but I usually always tag repair, no matter what the build is. My F3 cowboy had small guns, unarmed, repair, lock pick, speechcraft (because he was a good guy) and either medecine or sneak, I really cant remember. Ill have to think this new build out more carefully since there seems to be different skills and what not.

Must resist urge to make a Malcolm Reynolds character... You know? Screw it, that just might be my first character.
