Riften or Dawnstar? : V

I need to give either Dawnstar or Riften to the Imperials for Markarth. Now, does it actually change anything quest-wise?

Depends on if you want to favor someone during the Civil War.

Imperial Choice: Riften. Fair trade
Stormcloak Choice: Dawnstar. Not equal to Markarth
