Hi guys,

I'm facing a very disappointing bug, hope any of you can help me!

Here's the issue: on my pipboy I can't see the RNC reputation while this is supposed to be very very good as I'm siding them and done several quests.

the point is that several rangers shoot at me with no reason (even if I wear an RNC armor) and this stops me from finishing quests.
Not all the RNC rangers, just few of them. Following few examples:


1. Camp McCarran - Captain Curtis. This makes "I Put a Spell on You" impossible to be completed. Note: only captain Curtis, I can interact with others @ Camp
2. Camp Forlorn Hope - several RNC rangers attack me: this, together with the above, makes "no, not much" impossible to be completed
3. Novac - Andy
4. Ranger Station Delta: all!

I have installed the patch, no changes..

first off its NCR and 2nd off, i've been having the same problem. It started after i created an alliance between NCR and BoS

hi.i had this same problem a while back and it annoyed me for ages.
i searched the web for ages for a solution and finally found a suggestion that worked.
the person suggested that there is a bug which is causing some ncr members to think you are still wearing armour from a different faction.
to fix this i went to my house in novac(which is where i keep all my extra armour,guns etc) and took every single item of armour i owned into my inventory.
go through every single armour item equipping then unequipping each one,one at a time.
after you have done this put on a neutral armour and go back to the area where you are being attacked(camp macarran was my problem area),and hopefully you won't still be getting attacked.
this worked for me.hope it solves your problem too,cause i know how annoying this was for me and how relieved i was when this worked and i didn't need to start again.

im having the exact same problem as above. I have done nothing to annoy the ncr and my rep with them is idolized yet i get attacked by captain curtis,rangers, mp's and for some reason random trade caravans lol

ok i just tried putting on every item of armor i have and off and then put on a radiation suit and went to helios one and low and behold the captain or woteva she is attacks me.....the normal soldiers dont but she does. She shows as green but the moment i get infront of her she turns red and attacks.

Two points

1. would it make a difference if lets say i repaired some armor which is the bugged one....caused the bug and at some point threw that armor away so cannot equip then take off to reset it ?

and

2. do i have to equip and take off EVERY item of clothing i own....including hats ,helmets,sunglasses etc

I am sorry this hasn't worked for you.

It is possible I just got lucky and still had the bugged armour in my safe.It is also possible that you have sold repaired or threw away the problem item.

As I said I equipped and unequipped every individual item of armour I owned,one at a time,including helmets and the problem cleared.

I have a habit of keeping everything I pick up and not selling anything in games like this,which means it is highly likely if I had a bugged item of armour,I would still have had it to equip then unequip.

Can you remember when the problem began to happen,and can you also remember if you put on another factions armour at any point?

iv kept MOST of the armor iv picked up along the way, i just tried it with every single piece of clothing including glasses and hats that i own, have stashed or my followers have been carrying and im stick being attacked by certain characters.

From what i remember it seemed to happen after i first completed the mission for the BOS where you oust their leader and get the new one in place, i was given some power armour then and tried that out .Shortly after that i was doing quests and went to crimson caravan and they all attacked me, im ok going there now aslong as i wear NCR armor. Iv prob worn every type of armor at some point to try and sort this out ....i had to use 3 stealth boys just to get into the embassy on the strip to talk to the embassador there lol

Does the NCR pardon help this ?
or
Possibly killing an NCR ranger when undetected and wearing NCR ranger uniform ??

I can't remember when I got the ncr pardon,so not sure if that would make a difference or not.

I don't think its the bos armour because I didn't do their missions till long after I had sorted this problem out.

I'm stumped on this one now mate.I feel for u cause this drove me to despair when this was had this happening to me.

Guess I was just very lucky the equip-unequip thing worked for me.

If u have any early save games,maybe u should try loading them and try to figure out roughly the time the problem started.

Hopefully you've got save before it started and you can carry on from there.

unfortunately not i have 4 saves but there all from after it started because i just assumed it wasnt a bug..........daft assumption considering the millions of other bugs !! lol
