Roleplay a campsite (supplies)

Post » Fri Aug 10, 2012 6:35 am

Since portable campsites aren't built in, here's all the in-game items I could think of that you'd need to roleplay one.
  • Charcoal (found or purchased randomly, for creation of fires for non-mage types)
  • Firewood (please note, these are heavy)
  • Kettle or Cast Iron Pot
  • Ladel (2 if with a follower)
  • Bowl (2 with follower)
  • Plates (more applicable if you find forks and knives)
  • Cup, Mug, Goblet or likeness (2 with follower)
  • Lantern
  • Forks, Knives and Spoons (kind of rare, but can be acquired inside Dwemer ruins)
  • Salt Piles (for cooking and preservation of meats)
  • Ice Wraith Teeth (food preservation)
  • Jug (fresh water)
  • Hammer (for tent pegs)
  • Saw (rare find, but multpurpose tool in the wild)
  • Bellows (not required, but very helpful tool)
  • Strips of Leather (for tent)
  • Bear Hide (tent canvas)
  • Deer Hide (doubles as bed rolls)
  • Pre-prepared food supply
My guestimates tell me this will weigh in the neighborhood of 40 pounds, but it's very reasonable.

Feel free to add to this list if you'd like.

If you're going camping, why would you need a clothes iron? I'm certain you'd have more pressing things to worry about.

See what I did there? It was unintended.

Because many people don't have a PC or have no interest in mods. You're well aware of this, I'm sure.

I am aware of this :D
Anyway then this link should guide the true TES players who didn't discover this yet.

My apologies - I just realized that I haven't addressed the topic of the thread!

That's a really good list, I certainly hadn't thought of this. I usually just find a nice clearing beside the road and wait until morning. I may just have to try this! This would also work well with horses - from memory there are things hanging from their saddles that resemble animal hides. Perhaps the character could drop the hides if they have a horse, instead using the supplies they have on their horse?

Nice work :)

I am aware of this

So as a PS3 user I'm not a 'true TES player'? I'd disagree.

This sounds similar to something I did in Oblivion with my longest lived (and not to mention dearest) character. It certainly does add something to the game for me. Although in Skyrim I've been doing as Solitudian and just waiting next to the road.

So what if you don't get the well rested perk, sleeping on the hard earth under the stars in the North was never going to be particularly comfortable.

You are one of the casuals I think this was already established in one of the other threads.

Of course! Those of us who can't afford a modern gaming rig are obviously casual fans of TES!

I play Oblivion and Morrowind on PC. I have Skyrim for the PS3, as my laptop probably can't run Skyrim well.

And by your definition, much of the forum are 'casuals'. How odd.

it was kind of a joke. I mean, I get what you are saying, but there are people on the internet that are like "you haven't played every game in the series, including the mobile games no one cares about, therefor, you don't belong here you COD really devoted fan"

That is not the real definition of a casual gamer. A casual is the kind of guy who occasionally plays games like Guitar Hero, Call Of Duty and FarmVille. The kind of guy who most developers sadly market their games to nowadays. Your definition is just someone who is new to the series.

Ignio called Solitudian one of the casuals, Solitudian asked why.

Casual, not really. You don't need a PC to be a devoted TES gamer. A casual gamer as said above is someone who just plays stuff, guitar hero, mobile games etc.

So a gamer who just plays stuff is a casual gamer? than aren't we all casual gamers because we all play stuff?

That makes no sense at all, I think Verras definition was better.

I'm unsure whether or not you realise I was being sarcastic. I'd give me left knee (arrow free!) to play Skyrim on PC, but unfortunately spending £300/£400 on gaming is relatively low down on my list of things I need.

Edit: ANYWAY! Back on-topic, my Dunmer sleeps under a bear pelt when he's in the mountains. Deer hide just doesn't keep you warm enough!

You should bring a robe, for rainy weather. Possibly even fur armor incase the snow start falling.

I doubt that anyone has use for your left knee (arrow free or otherwise) but you can always try selling one of your kidneys
