Roleplaying a "true" Nord Battlemage

Post » Sun Oct 21, 2012 12:01 pm

I'm going to restart my current character, since I more or less have powerleveled/gamed him for the first ten levels to see if the playstyle would work (two-handed weapons and magic).

With a somewhat solid build idea that has (at least initially) proven to work it is time to flesh out the character, I want this to be my new main, going through the Main Quest and several factions.

I want to roleplay something akin to a "true nord" that uses battle axes and heavy armor but is also gifted with magic (like in the old days). I have some ideas in mind already but I'd like to hear your ideas on which guilds to join, why he will use magic when most nords won't and how a true Nord can justify the incessant grave robbing that comes with questing in this game.

Thanks.

In terms of magic, I'm not sure. You'd think Restoration, Frost spells, and possibly some alteration would work pretty well but Illusion wouldn't and Conjuration would be thought of as outright profane.

In terms of robbing graves, perhaps your character visits tombs to 'put to rest' the risen souls, granting them mercy. And just leave most loot intact, particularly loot from the bodies of Draugr or in burial urns.
