...okay then-bear with me, as the term was used only for a very specific purpose; it is that purpose which shaped the vague idea of a definition for 'RPG purists'. Essentially, I merely wanted to get the attention/thoughts of those that churn the minutiae of design/mechanics/gameplay facets around through their personal opinions/cognitions/preferences/predilections/biases when determining their position relative to a specific game. I left out the idea of 'fun' just now, perhaps unfairly, because it often seems that many people have more fun evaluating games than playing them, and I generally find that a games fun value reveals itself to me independantly of intellectual assessments of said game. Having said that, however, I would like to apologize to any who may think that the decision to leave 'fun' out of a definiton of RPG purists characteristics is pejorative-you are probably correct-I meant no offence.

I agree with your basic assessment of Gothic 3; had some really irrtating gameplay and multitudiness glitches. However, the number of years that its community, and developers, have been supporting and patching it, mixed with the enhancements made for the (re)release (as Gothic 3 Gold Enhanced) makes me feel vague tremors of giddiness. Also; tweaking and texture mods did make that game look very nice; I, too, was impressed by city/stronghold design, as well.
Lastly, I can only say that I hope that the Fable 3 comment was not aimed at me; I do not think that my fragile ego could take it.
