RPing an Orc

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:37 pm

Hey

My official second character in Skyrim is an Orc male Berserker. Now I plan on joining The Companions (becoming a Werewolf and staying one), completing the Malacath Daedric quest and marrying the female Orc from the Orc Stronhold North of Marcath and west of Solitude, the one that does not want to get married and traded off to a chieftain.

But, I'm kinda stuck. I have no idea what I should do concerning other quests and other factions ie: Civil War and Bards College. The Imperial Legion didnt really help when the Bretons and Redguards ransacked Orsinium again. So I dont see why I should help them in return even though Orcs were always in the Imperial Legion. I'm not really poetic type but I do like the rewards I get from handing in the instruments.

Then it comes to normal side quests and Misc quests. If you think about all the quests that there is. I probably wouldn't do any of them unless it involved bloodletting. I'm also a follower of Malacath so I doubt I would help any of the other Daedric Lords.

What are your opinions when it comes to RPing an Orc?

I have the exact same set up on my second character. I never marry my characters (Save my first Nord to Aeila The Huntress) and for my Orc I felt it was just a little bit weird to have him as a Vampire or a Werewolf, he already is a big green monster with a huge axe. I also happen to dislike the way an Dunmer Werewolf is the same shape and has the same fur colour as a Nord Werewolf. Back to the point however, I did the Daedric Quests for Malacath (Sweet Hammer, too slow to swing), Clavicus Vile (Rueful Axe looks alittle tougher than Wuuthrad) and Hermaeus Mora (Oghma Infinium to boost some skills). I would suggest doing Clavicus Vile's for the Axe and Hermaeus Mora for the boost to Warrior stats. I would also suggest that you do Hircine's quest. It fits into the idea of an Orc, being the Hunter in most situations aswell as gives you the Ring Of Hircine if you help Sinding which grants an additional transformation everyday to Werewolves. As for any other side quests, any quest sending you to kill Bandits, Creatures or Forsworn in their Caves would seem perfect (Eg; Retrieving a Redguard's Father's Sword from Bandits in Whiterun). The Civil War, I would expect an Orc to join with the Legion. They may not have protected Orsinium but they do allow foreign races to live within their borders and work in their ranks. Unlike the Stormcloaks who have a solely Nord military and a very racist outlook on foreign races living in their cities and land. I also could not imagine an Orcish Berserker Werewolf Bard. You could perform alot of the Hold specific quests(Escaping Cidna Mine would be good or Killing Morvath in Falkreath). Overall you shouldn't be stuck. There is plenty for you to do.

I played a very similar character, even married the same woman.

He use a two-handed sword and heavy armor. I did the Main Quest for glory. He was kicked out of this old tribe and wanted to start up a new one with his new wife, but he knew he had to prove himself first. Dragon hunting became his passion and he joined the Blades for even more glory and honor. He did not do the Civil War quests since he didn't feel like he had a dog in that fight.

Dragon hunting didn't always go as expected:

... and there was a small problem at the wedding:

When Orsinium was ransacked the legion had there own problems to deal with so they couldn't help if they wanted too.
So I can see an Orc joining the legion.

Go and destroy some of the smaller settlements? let them know your there, then when you feel as if you've made enough of an impression, attack a main city, leave none alive

The legion couldn't defeat the Redguard and Breton forces attacking Orsinium but they did what they could to evacuate civilians. The Orc legionnaire from the ES books (I think it was Lord of Souls but it may have been the other) explained that she joined the Legion because she and her family were evacuated during the attack by the Imperial Legion. The legionnaires held back the Redguard and Breton forces so the Orcish settlers could escape and their brave sacrifice became her inspiration for joining.

Hey

Thanks for your replies, made me laugh...

I plan on only wearing Orc armor and using Orc weapons. I will be doing the Discerning Transmutation for the book reward, but I'm still not sure on the other Daedric quests and I think quests that deal with bandits, pirates and Forsworn may be for me aswell.

Still not 100% sure on the Civil War. Defenetly wont be helping the Nords. Might just leave it to be honest. Also decided on not joining the Bards. Would just look wierd and weak to me.

After reading this has made me rethink about joining the Legion.. so maybe I will. Hmm also didnt know there was TES books out. Will need to look out for them in the future in WHSmiths.

Thanks.

I've been RPing an Orc for a bit now. lv 41 at the moment. She wears heavy armor which for a while was Orcish until I could craft Deadric armor and she wears a modified version of that due to mods. When not wearing that she wears heavy steel modified armor. For weapons she uses two handed great sword, battle axe and Malakath's maul. Carries with her at all times True Nature of the Orcs and Book of Malakath. I aligned her with the Imperial legion though she kills EVERY Thalmor agent and vililant of Stendar she comes across. Has destroyed the Thalmor Embasy and Stendar locations on many occasions with bodies piled everywhere.

Her orcish nature keeps her not so much in the mood to help others, but to test her might in battle. This has her taking on every quest she comes across. She is a member of the thieves guild and is seeking a way into the dark brotherhood.

She married a cute young miner girl from Shols mine.

Kaileena Red-Claw also serves all the Deadric gods, having done every quest for them I've come across.

When I players as an Orc I played him as a once slave to a cruel imperial master so he would have a good reason to join the stormcloals

Hey

Still enjoying my Orc so far, cleared out nearly all non-quest related dungeons in Falkreath Hold and have just now entered The Reach. Really fun at the moment. I've kept to killing Bandits etc but now I'm not to sure on how the Forsworn treat the Orcs. I already have two bounties to kill Forsworn leaders but can't seem to find any material to tell me how Forsworn treat Orcs like they would the Nords or the Imperials.

Might just ignore them the now and focus on travelling to Mor Khazgur, want to get my future bride and travelling companion.

But the Legion doesn't have slaves. Heck, the only race that kept on using slavery for a long time was the Dunmer, but the slaves were released after the events of Morrowind.

I don't believe the forsworn like the orcs. I know with mine I have come across orcs and forsworn fighting. I helped the orcs who then attacked me haha.

One fun thing to do and I do this all the time with my orc is unarmed combat using heavy armor perk. So much fun to smash a bandit in the face haha

Hmmm. Do Orc strongholds have safe storage?

I might be ready for a big green tank. :)
