I came acroos Lindsey from the boomers out in the wasteland who was sleeping with the chem fiends, i woke her up and she was headed back home so i thought i would follow as i wanted to see her home safe because i still have not found her teddy (side quest), on approach to the airfield the motars started firing, i am friends with them and after backing off i could see they were firing at her, luckily she just walk back throught the explosions until reaching the gate and going in.
