Running out of options! Freeze when searching stuff

Post » Mon Jan 17, 2011 11:59 pm

Well my problem is that when i like to search some stuff, like open closet or search body the game freezes for 4-5 seconds and soundtrack lags also. Vats take only like one second to download the percentages. Mouse also lags and accelarate in menu pretty [censored] and inpossible to use in pipboy.
I've installed patch 1 & 2 and tried 2 differend .dll files, also some 4gb dll files, also tried to change text file located in my games folder. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778 .dll downloaded there

Uninstalled FFSV showdown etc program, also tried to install and make exeptions for noew vegas.

I'm running:
Win 7 64 bit
i5
Gtx 480 --> newest drivers
1920 x 1200
4 gb ram

Should be enough to run full specs and to search and open stuff.

Hope someone here can HELP!

Look around the forum. Two thousand other owners of Geforces have complaints about the game, with maybe half a dozen work-arounds, some of which work pretty well, but not all will work for everyone, same as not all geforce card owners have trouble.

The one work around I"ve done and has work fine is to go back to driver 186.18. Its work great I run at 74- 81 fps. at high set up. These drivers have stopped the stuttering and the pauses when trying to repair my equipment.

[censored]. Going back to time doesn't sound good for me. Is there coming some real pact sometime?
It's pretty [censored] to use duct tape as much as needed in this game just make it work on somehow.
So how are the console versions working?

The one work around I"ve done and has work fine is to go back to driver 186.18. Its work great I run at 74- 81 fps. at high set up. These drivers have stopped the stuttering and the pauses when trying to repair my equipment.

Particularly when nVIDIA started with their "Unified" shader functions (the 8n00 generation, I believe), their former sure-handedness with drivers fell totally apart, so that one in three at first were less useful than what came before them, so for over three years, gamers with Geforces have been forced to do the driver shuffle on a regular basis, and it is always wise to set a restore point before changing drivers, for an easy step back.

This same situation also makes using a Driver Cleaner between the one you are taking off and the replacement practically mandatory. This time through nVIDIA's jumping hoops, the driver problems seem to have coincided with the GTX 460 cards, because gamers with Fallout 3 and Geforces started to have trouble with that game then, if they updated their drivers.

Don't get it how this game be such laggy [censored]. I'm running pretty decent hardware, and still got some [censored] issues.

Dunno, nothing helps. Maybe wait some about forever for new patch.

Don't think that I have anything settings wrong or etc..

hmmm after all this
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1131161-random-bsod-blue-screen-of-death-fnw-1112711/page__st__40

i can only suggest to wait for patch or do a format install xp SP 3 with game only . net framework, graphic and sound drivers, low sound hardware acceleration to basic and DISABLE WINDOWS AUTOUPDATES as well coz it seems that they screw a game as well :brokencomputer:

good luck!!!!

p.d. i saw that you have i5 so it is quad core i think.. and if it is.. you may want to try that .ini edit fix coz sometimes the game seems to dislike quad core
