Running HH with a Pre-HH Charactor?

If I get HH do I have to start all over with a new charactor? Also is there any problem with HH when your playing hardcoe mode? I have read that there were some issues with this.

No, unless you are like me and edited a part of FALLOUT.ini that won't work with the DLC and doesn't work with previous save games if you revert back to the old .ini. And there is no problem with hardcoe that I know of. Maybe a glitch because of the time gap, but it is supposed to not count toward your Hunger/Thirst/Sleep.

@looloolooigotsomeapples - may I ask what part of the .ini you edited that didn't work with the DLC? And do you mean it causes more crashes, or that it won't work at all (won't load, etc)? I mess w/my ini bit sometimes and wouldn't mind knowing what to avoid. :)

No. Any character from before you started the battle for Hoover Dam can play HH at any time.

If your only saves are during Hoover Dam though, then you will have to start a new character. Sorry.

Well, there's the fact that bullets eat up a lot of your weight allotment for starting the DLC (75 pounds; 100 if you have pack rat, strong back, high medicine, or high speech and take certain dialog options), but beyond that, I've had no problems.
