Whilst anyone's death is a tragedy, especially for the friends and family they leave behind, there are always consequences with those who drink and drive, especially when it results in the death of someone else.

In the meantime, please can we show a little respect in the replies you make in this topic.

RIP Ryan Dunn :(

To the people who are going off at him for drinking
1) We don't know how drunk he was, he could have had one drink
2) It's still sad if he was drinking, if one of your close friends died you would be torn up
3) Being a passenger with a drunk driver is different, I can't count the number of times I got a ride from someone who said they were sober, but turned out to be smashed (take cabs now, too risky)

Show a little sympathy, seriously

One drink or not, there is no excuse for driving at 110mph. He was reckless and he paid for it.

Thanks for your input in this thread.

I'm not going to deny that what he did was idiotic, but seriously - have some respect.

He was also someone's son, friend, cousin, uncle and maybe even brother. Show a little bit of damn respect [censored].

So sorry to disappoint you all, but there is no law saying I have to respect a man who puts others' lives in danger with his stupid decisions. I'll try to make this post respectful, but lets make one thing clear - I don't respect the man, at all. Honestly, I've seen you people rejoice at the deaths of some and baw at deaths like these, and it makes no sense to me. Death may be a sad thing but when people bring it upon themselves through pure idiocy, and kill somebody else in the process, I give them no sympathy. Sorry if I failed to appeal to your sense of humanity.

If there is anyone to feel sorry for it’s Ryan Dunn’s friends and family, the other victim, and his/her friends and family, but not Ryan Dunn. Not by a long shot.

And I have absolutely no problem with that. But this is a public forum, and while it's unlikely that any of Ryans friends or family will read your comment, you'd be better off keeping comments like your previous one out of the public domain, especially so soon after his death.

He was driving at 110mph; I doubt it was an issue with the car's safety.

I don't want to get into the ins and outs of his death, but when you're drunk and use something wrecklessly a freaking spoon can become a deadly weapon.

The whole incident was bloody tragic but it wasn't the cars fault....

Apparently he posted http://ll-media.tmz.com/2011/06/20/0620-ryan-twitpic-asset.jpg photo on Twitter a couple of hours before he died; so I guess the people with him were also not sober.

I'm 23 and live in one of the biggest-drinking nations in the world; unfortunately I've seen this happen to a couple of guys my age that I knew from school. Otherwise sensible, decent guys that made one stupid decision that ended their lives. :(

I see a lot of people saying things like "He should have used common sense, you shouldn't feel bad" I don't know if any of you have been drunk before but common sense is one of the most obvious things you'll loose when you're drunk, way to be jerks.

/rant

Anyway Ryan Dunn was a great all around person and he will be missed dearly. :sadvaultboy:

I'm sure you'll have the same outlook when it's one of your friends or family.

My father died in 2008 because he was unhealthy, he choose to eat nothing but junk food until he could no longer walk, and as much as it pains me I still know it was nobody's fault but his own. Or how about this, one of my very best friends friends died five months ago from a heroin overdose, and I still haven't forgiven him. Does that mean anything to you? Or perhaps you thought my harsh outlook on the manner of peoples' deaths to be reserved only for people I don't know personally?

How's that for a ?

Also, I'm not trying to start an arguement with you, nor am I upset with your comment (I can easily see why you'd think I would act differently when a death directly effects me) so please don't take it that way. I'm simply being honest about myself, even if it isn't the prettiest truth.

One more edit: Also, I'd like to apologize to any that may have been offended by my comments, my intent was not to offend, simply to state my feelings on the matter.
