Sahrotaar flies off without me : V

When I tame Sahrotaar with the Bend Will shout, he lands properly and I can mount him with none of the issues reported re the E key not working.

However, when he takes off, I stay behind - floating in mid-air in the seated position! My camera zooms waaaaaay out and the game keeps giving me the flight control tutorial prompts, but I can't do anything. Can't get down. Can only target things near ME, not near wherever the dragon is... just generally hosed.

I've tried rolling back several saves and havent had any luck yet. /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I found the fix for this when it happened to me here in the forum. I had a dragon skeleton.nif, I think it was 'nif' under meshes which was overriding Dragonborn. After I deleted it, my player rode away happily. I'm not at my computer, but a search for 'skeleton' here or in your mesh folders would probably find it.

Meshes\Actors\Dragon\Character Assets\skeleton.nif. Remove it.

Is it really safe to just remove the file?

I had the Realistic Ragdolls and Force mod installed which seemed to cause the problem for me. Not that simply removing mods is safe either though.

Mine was from Realistic Ragdolls too. It's entirely safe to remove the skeleton.nif in this case, as the skeleton has entirely self-contained data about how the joint rotations work that doesn't interact with any code or scripts (well, other than the physics engine itself).

It's like a mini-mod plugin, all on its own. The game reverts to using the default one if you delete it.

I need help, I have the exact same problem. Except, I've never had 'ragdolls effect' mod or 'burning skies'. (I've read various threads relating to this issue)

Also when I go to - Meshes\Actors\Dragon\Character Assets\skeleton.nif.

I dont have that at all, what I have instead is :-

-Meshes\Actors\Characters\1st_person, Animations, Character Assets & Character Assests Female

I have reinstalled and everything! Please help

I've heard of people having this same issue. Many just delete skeleton.nif and are instantly fixed, but some don't even seem to have skeleton.nif or a dragons meshes folder and so they can't do that to fix it, they have even tried reinstalling and turning off mods, and some like you don't even have those conflicting mods in the first place. I've yet to hear about a fix for people like you, sorry.

I deleted the whole dragon folder under Meshes\characters. No luck.

It's also possible that there is a skeleton nif in one of the BSAs of a mod that they are using... It's a bit of an exercise to find out which mod maybe causing that conflict.

I would suggest BOSS off hand. It won't fix your specific problem, but it'll help resolve a lot of order issues.

I also generally suggest that you use the unofficial patches for Skyrim, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard in addition to the one for Dragonborn.

Anybody tell me where the is skeleton.nif file is? I can't find the meshes, actors, character assets or anything else with the search command.

Where is this folder?

My problem is that Sahrotaar only becomes tame if I shout at him then kill him. And while he sits there staring at me after he resurrects, I can't talk with him and he doesn't offer to fly me to Miraak.

Help!!!!!
