I'm doing MZ and I'm in the storage room where the sword should be but the shelf is empty.Has this happened to anyone else and do I really need it?

Never happened to me that it wasn't on the shelf, didn't it get knocked off somehow?
In any case I'm pretty sure it's not essential, I believe the samurai will still find it himself
somehow, but it's been a while since I played MZ.

I play on the PS3, and have also not been able to find that damn sword, and trust me, i am very thorough in my searching. it just is not anywhere where it is supposed to be. you beat me to posting the question, so i myself am curious as to where it is found. (i know it is supposed to be on the shelf with the numerous first aid boxes. it is not. :fallout:

If you do not get it right away before the samurai guy goes for it he will get it before you just kill him to get it. I usually kill him the second he wakes up lol. I know I'm terrible, but it ain't like he would last long against those aliens anyway :P So ya justr kill him when he wakes up. No one will care, and then go get it right away. it should always be there if you do it like that.

Happened to me on the first playthrough.
I did not go exploring the "dump" early enough in that playthrough.
Seems it is scripted to vanish at a certain point, he finds it himself, so he can do his samurai scene later on.
