Sapphire Radeon 6850 problems?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 3:55 am

So theres an overwhelming amount of people that are having trouble with their AMD cards, and i have been browsing through this forum for quite some time and have not found any individuals reporting that they are having problems with the RADEON 6850 specifically. I have not bought RAGE yet, but am wondering if there are people out there who are having trouble with their 6850. If so, is it playable? And if you can run it, what are your specs?

Here are my specs:

AMD FX-6100 six-core processor
460W Power supply
Sapphire? Radeon 6850
6Gb RAM ddr3

No need to bump; it hasn't even been an hour yet! Perhaps there's just nobody who has one on the boards since your original post? Give it a day at least (lots of people live in lots of different time zones too and that could also be a factor).

Likely you will have some type of driver issue. Based on you specs you should have enough power for running the game. Unless your card is less than 1gb. But the issue for many is drivers, some will work for you others will make it worse. They only other issue is between windows 7 or Vista. I don't know specifics but I have heard Vista users are having issues specific to them.

Alright, basically it is a crap shoot. You might get lucky and get it working right off the bat, or you might get it working after some work or some posting. But either way, you definitely should be able to get it working with your setup. I have seen people with almost identical setups as mine that can't run it and I can run it no problems (after some work through's to iron out the kinks).

If you get it, give me a PM and I will send you as much info as I can to get it running smooth.
