My save file is gone...

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 1:25 am

Greetings,

today I created a new character, to get the feeling of a mage class (I was playing a Nord Warrior). When I went to save the mage, I picked a "new game file" and when I went to play with my Nord, he was gone and all his save files were replaced by my level 1 mage.

Googling my problem, I realized that a lot of people has experiencing this same, silly and very frustrating bug.

Is Bethesda doing anything to fix it anytime soon? I mean, I really want to get to feel the game (using the same user account) with different classes and characters.

Thank you in advance.

Hail naugh.

I doubt it, the only major thing that 'might' be fixed is the framerate.

Level 13...

Oh well, this is sad indeed. Why would they release a game with so many bugs still in?

Is the Xbox 360 version suffering from the same or other issues?

Dear sirs from Bethesda, could we have a word from you regarding this matter of lost saved files?

I had this happen to me too.

Simple reason and dumb reason is:

Skyrim creates a saved file under the title "Prisoner" when you start a new character in the "First Save Slot" automatically. When you created this Nord character you saved over this file (as many of us also did) with your new character.

By doing this and not saving another game in the "Second Save Slot" you overwrote your save game with the "Prisoner" one again.

It pissed me off but this is why. I kept the "First Save Slot" as "prisoner" and saved all my other characters on other slots and it's been fine since.

Hope this helps and I completely agree it's a stupid bug and I was at least 20 hours in.

Wow, thank you.

I will create my other chars now. And such a silly issue, indeed.
