Save/Load - Feature Request

Post » Mon Dec 06, 2010 5:42 pm

Hi all,

Most of the time when people make posts about features or changes to a game its related to the actual game play however I'm not at all concerned with the game play. I do however have a request regarding the Save/Load system.

I request that an option to "create a new save file at every auto save" be added to the options menu. This option would make it so that every time the title auto saves it creates a brand new file rather then overwriting your current file.

For those that played Oblivion and Fallout 3 you'll know that you were forced to open the pause menu and save a hell of a lot (I think I beat the game with over 300 files) because you could get trapped in loops if you didn't save often (Attack a dude, enter a room, *saves*, he comes in kills you, loads, he comes in kills you, loads, he comes in kills you.....).

Obviously it would be silly to make this a default on option as it would require a lot more HDD space, but I would love if this were possible to be enabled so that I don't end up having to manually save 300 times again :(

Thank you!

300 files! what's the point? . i only make about 5 save files and keep overwriting them in a rotation .

unless there's an exception , i usually save every 2 hours . when there's a glitch or something goes wrong, the autosave works like a charm .

(Attack a dude, enter a room, *saves*, he comes in kills you, loads, he comes in kills you, loads, he comes in kills you.....)

this happened to me in Paradise falls, after launching a war against them, and killing every one outside, i entered the barracks fore some loot and there was like 12 of them in there,
everytime i load the autosave, i die in seconds . had to load to before i started the war and do it all over again .

but it's no big deal, that's videogames . sometimes you have to redo .

The game is finished now anyway so it would have to be put in a patch.

Agreed, this would be pretty helpful, can't change the game now and i doubt they have it though.in the end of fallout 3 i ended up with over 600 saves

With the game done and in production, the only changes now that we'll see will be first from the modding community and then later with the DLCs. But for many months, mods will be the only changes now!

Can't wait!

It won't be "many months" before the first DLC is released; they've already started on it, probably the moment they reached their cutoff date for new content, so I'd expect it before Christmas.
