When I'm playing the game (PS3 version) a LOT of the time I go to my menu to save and everything is grayed out except for 'help' (can't save, load, change settings or controls, or quit). I can't figure out why, but it won't go away unless I enter combat, no matter what I do. I can fast travel, enter buildings, talk to people, stand and wait, and it just won't let me do anything. It's all grayed out and it's really annoying. I have to go find some creature to get into combat with for it to work, or just restart my PS3. This happens all the time, anyone else experiencing this?

I have this same issue but only when trying to save within a couple of minutes after entering a location. After a minute or so, I'm able to save manually.

I believe the game is autosaving when this happens. A workaround would be to disable autosaves completely though I'm unsure if it will stop greying out menu options entirely.

It's taking forever to autosave and doesn't want you to do anything that could interfere with that.

One of the reasons why I shut off all the autosave options, I can manage my own save files just fine thanks.

I figured it was autosave but I think it's getting stuck, because I will sit and wait for 5+ minutes (way past an autosave time) and still it is grayed out and won't let me do anything.

That's cause the autosave function in this game is basically crap. Takes forever, overwrites the wrong saves, all kinds of badness.

Maybe I'll just turn it off since I basically save every 10 minutes anyway...
