SAVED GAME DELETED WHEN STARTING NEW ONE!

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 5:15 am

So, this is really sh*t worthy in my opinion. Every time i decide to start a new character the other is deleted....This hinders playability quite a bit for me....who wants to be a skinny wood elf warrior??? you just can't make that work, especially after you've already leveled up all of his skills in the sneak area. i had logged over 150 hours into my wood elf thief and decided that i wanted to play a nord warrior. started a new game and saved onto a NEW file and just like that....the old save was gone......I'm quite pissed. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I want this thread known! :obliviongate:

Yeah there's like 50 threads about this already. It's unfortunate you didn't see any of them before this happened, and also unfortunate that you only had one save file for your previous character. One of the reasons I always disable all autosave options and keep multiple saves for every character I have.

Also the patch was not intended to address this issue at all.

You do realize the first save as you get off the cart is an auto save right? You are supposed to select create new save or whatever it says.

Don't delete the prisoner save, save your current character ,and load the prisoner save, this way it won't delete your previous character and you'll be able to start a new one.

Still people like Star_Killer and doomhell exist on this forum with those smart comments. And also you should be able to have 1 save file only for each game that you own if that's wha you want WITHOUT people telling you you should have more save files and check forums. It's like getting a car and your reasoning says that you should always buy 2 cars incase 1 breaksdown. Get real, Bethesda svcks.

It's not a problem. It's working as intended.

It seems to be connected to autosaving in some way, do you have that disabled?

No I haven't touched the auto save options. The first time I played i saved over that first save that was there(the one where you just got off the cart right before you create your character) instead of creating a new save slot. I started a new game and it erased that one so the next time I started I created a new slot and i just now started a new character to see if it would overwrite that one as well and it didn't.
