Saves not showing up in-game (But do exist)

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 6:40 am

So I updated to 1.4 Skyrim and all my saves are gone.

Just to be sure I went to C:\Users\(My User Name)\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves and they are intact.

Why are my save files not being read by Skyrim? I even turned off all my mods to be sure tif they were the reason or not, and still nothing.

Did you check the integrity of your game cache in Steam?

Go to your games library in Steam, right click on Skyrim and select properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Verify Integrity of Game Cache was done...

Sadly it didn't fix the problem, all it did was make me have to redo my graphics settings at the start-up.

So what's next?

In Skyrim.ini (The one in Documents/My Games/Skyrim) under the General heading at the top make sure

SLocalSavePath=

is pointing to where your save folder is.

have you tried starting a new game and making a new save or two? (I'd back up your save folder first, if you haven't already)
