I had a Lv30, only one save. I made a new character as an alternate tonight and when I check to go load my main guy to play him he was gone >:| Replaced by the first Auto-save that happens when you get off the guards cart. I never made any manual saves on this guy but now my lv 30 is gone

You know how hard it is to level a hand2hand Khajiit? >:| Super hard... heh. What happened? Is this a result of that damn patch, this hasn't happened before...

Edit : I'm going to go play Morrowind until I cool down or this bug is fixed, That's just not cool...

Nope, I lost my thief that way pre-patch. Apparently that bug didn't get fixed, and that one is pretty bad...

I'm sorry, but how does losing a character because you relied on auto-saves a bug? You should have manual saved.

I don't know how people play a role playing game with ONLY ONE SAVE. Not counting the autosave at all. I always play with multiple saves just in case something happens. Also, I back them up with PS+'s cloud save storage feature also backing them up on my flash drive.

I wasn't relying on Auto-saves. My main character was on a Manual Save. The first auto-save counts as a Manual Save as well, and over saved my game. Read it more clearly.

I just tested if multiple Manual saves helps, and they all get deleted and replaced with the most recent game.

I was saying I never Manually saved on the NEW character. I never said anything about my main character using auto saves. So again, pay more attention to what you are reading.

Well I backed my up on another profile so it wouldnt happen, I firsted heard about this the night of 11-11-11 through a tweet.

No matter what the bug is that ruined your game, this is your biggest mistake and is quite literally suicide (for your character!)

I'm not trolling, but I hope you'll remember this thread in the future and never rely on one save in an RPG ever again, it's nothing but trouble...

So they all got replaced with the most recent saved game? How is that even possible? Then you're looking at all the same pictures of that recent saved game.

I just lost my level 42 yesterday. I saved every day after I finished playing, but it wasn't enough. When I pressed "continue" yesterday, it opened up a level 20 version of the same character, which I saved a long time ago.. All my autosaves seem to be gone too. I think i'm done with Skyrim now. Bethesda too..

Don't ask how it's possible. My first character got removed by my third, so it does happen... don't know why.

To be honest, I don't even know if backup saves will work - I haven't heard of any pattern by which it overwrites, so you may just want to make a USB backup any time you make a new character - or, just keep the autosave form character creation, and load it any time you want to make a new character.
