Like the title states, I got some saves the game can't even load up, big issue is a clean, vanilla save that's not working. Everything I've found points to the size of the file and I've found some mods that help with clutter but I'd need to get into these oversized saves for it to do any good. Dose anyone have any ideas of what I could do to get into these saves again, or are they toast?

Should also note that new characters and smaller saves the game loads up fine and runs great on high settings, ultra only lagging a bit when there's lots of effects going on.

I am noticing that sometimes when I have this problem...a save wont load and does the infinite load screen...IF I load any save that is in an interior then immediately go to the menu and load the offending save ..it loads.

For this reason I have a save in Breeze home, that I always use for this .

Finding that most times Ii have the infinite screen ..the save is in an exterior. Have since taken to saving interiors now.

Tried loading from saves in interiors, nothing. My argonian may have to retire.

Fallout: New Vegas had this problem on occasion and the fix was to start a new game then load your save from the ESC menu. I'd give that a try in Skyrim.

Load any save from that character ,once in the game ,then try loading a troubled save .

If all the saves wont load there is something else going on ...

Can't even load my argonian from one of his level 2 saves.

Alot more info would help. For instance...

Have you used mods...list them
Size of the saves, the ones that load also.
When starting a new game Hit ESC. try loading all your saves..(none work?)

Wrye Bash (Swiss Arny Knife of modding tools) is a great utility , besides the other ton of things you can do with it , you can also have a look at your saves, and see what masters it requires. This is helpful in that you could see if you are missing something that the save requires.

I can still load my first save....277 hours back...have had a bunch of mods in and out of this character. Something has to be missing the game needs or wants..since you can start a new game it would have to be a mod...
