1:6 scale figures

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 5:07 pm

My brother collects 1:6 scale World War 2 male figures. Do any of you all collect any 1:6 scale figures?

I just bought three of the Xena dolls (I effin love Xena, okay?) and I decided that I want to make my own custom 1:6 scale Xena.

My brother showed me these seamless female bodies that are absolutely amazing, but before I throw 60-70+ dollars at it, I was wondering if anyone on here knew anything about them. So far I've only come across Phicen, Hot Stuff, and TBLeague brands, and I'm not really sure which is the best quality, though it appears that Hot Stuff is more expensive. My main concern is they have, from what it looks like, 3 different briast sizes, but I'm not sure if the briast size has any effect on the size of the buttocks. I would like to get a medium or small, but not if it shrinks other parts of the figure. Does anyone know anything about this at all?

Anyone own a seamless female body 1:6 scale?

Also, does anyone know about where a good place to purchase clothes for these dolls for a reasonable price? And additionally: anywhere to make a custom head sculpt, and a place to buy materials to make clothes from scratch?

I ? Xena...

and probably Gabrielle even more.

Yes, I do. And also, my brother owns action figures. I guess Xena and Callisto are action figures too but Gabrielle is a doll >.>

Why do you feel compelled to point that out?

Anyways unless you're super artistic and skilled I wouldn't try to make your own head for it. Although, it can't be worse than the http://www.figurerealm.com/userimages/customs/13000/12786-2.jpg I guess.

Don't collect them myself. I have one http://www.nekomagic.com/figure_news/200902/gsc_ryougi_shiki02.jpg figure by GoodSmile, but they don't handle things like Xena. Mine was near $160, so I'd actually worry about quality with something $60.

Have you considered something http://nerdreactor.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Megahouse-Queens-Blade-Risty-Figure-53.jpg?

It's 60 just for the body, no clothes, head, or any accessories.

Edit: and I meant where I can fund some company to make a custom head

Edit 2: That is the 6 inch figure, I bought the 12 inch Doll. Much better.

Edit 3: Queens Blade girl looks nothing like Xena... And was far more tasteless.

1:6 Mecha = like 5 feet tall.

Have fun with that

NRFB and NRFC are because I don't have room for them in the display case (or room for another display case). Not because I do NRFB (I want to free them from their cages, but won't until I have proper room)

Those are all very nice, but they are statues? Are they articulate? They don't seem to be what I'm talking about.

They are all PVC Figures. Some articulate (revoltech line), most don't.

I would post some pictures to show you all what I'm talking about, but the doll bodies are purchased bare. They'd probably zomglock my thread.

Dolls != figures. I'm a figure collector, not a doll collector. There's only been a few dolls I'd care to collect (http://i40.tinypic.com/214tdnl.jpg) as I find figures to be more accurate.

BTW: a quality doll costs a couple of hundred. I'd be leery of anyone selling you one for cheaper.

My brother purchases 2-300 dollar dolls, but they are complete figures with clothes and HD head sculpts, plenty of accessories. I'm talking about buying the naked, headless figure to make a custom doll with. Just look up "seamless female body" on ebay.

Are you familiar and skilled in working with vinyl as well as painting on vinyl? You're basically talking a super-garage kit here and would require significant effort to come out good.

Normal garage kits require a decent artist as well as a good many hours. What you are asking would require a skilled vinyl worker, a decent artist, and a multitude of hours.

Plan: Make the clothes, fund the head.

what about painting the eyes/lips on? Funding that too?

You really aren't saving any money going down this path. Any quality vinyl worker isn't going to do this for cheap as it's very precise and meticulous work that requires a sculptor's eye. This is why companies like Dollfie charge an arm and a leg for their dolls.

I know it isn't cheap, I just want to make sure I can find the right dimensions for the seamless body. It has to be the seamless type, because joints are ugliness.

So many... And I dont even know one of them...

No I dont, my room is cluttered enough as it is, and they dont really serve a purpose. Do people just look at them for hours ? Seems odd to spend so much on something you will rarely see.
