Screen Caps From Nov 1 "Making Of" Trailer

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 5:12 pm

First off, skeletons in Skyrim. Notice how the arm bone is levitating and not connected to torso. Technical constraint or magic? http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6056/6302580613_2018484559_b.jpg

Next up, WTF are these things? They can use fire spells, they have long hair, they look undead/unnatural and they have unusually long fingers. Could they be vampires? Or even Volkihar vamps? http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6214/6302581107_119453b0c9_b.jpg

Is this image evidence that enemies can assassinate you? Or is the player character doing the assassination? I can't tell. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6112/6302581789_556ee200a7_b.jpg

Finally, we see the grabbing function in action. The physics for objects are MUCH more improved than in Oblivion. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6105/6302582585_df5cf15a97_b.jpg Also, this one. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6111/6303109218_0a3c55e84d_b.jpg

Here's an image of the tanning hide feature in action. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6235/6302584117_acbf21a66c_b.jpg

Here's an image of what I assume is one aspect of alchemy. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6238/6303110512_9686afa7e6_b.jpg

Here's wood cutting at its finest http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6106/6303111174_b56efe28a3_b.jpg

Here's some mining action is Skyrim. I guess that's ore. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6048/6303111670_82fbd12636_b.jpg

We've already seen this, but not with this lighting. It's just plain beautiful. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6037/6302586551_bf245039e4_b.jpg

For reference, I capped these images from Youtube, running the video at 1080p. Also, Bethesda confirmed that the footage was taken from the XB360 version.

They have feathers either attached or growing from the skin. Maybe they're trying to fly like dragons? Or else (pure speculation here) I would like to think there were some Dovahkiin who didn't quite "form" properly and they Greybeards keep them locked away.

Thanks for the post and screen caps; much appreciated!

I am also curious about the spell that is being cast in the video from ~minute 1:27-1:29. It appears to be a dual-wield cast of some kind, though I may be mistaken. In any event, it looks plenty powerful!

All fantasy skeletons must be held together by magic. In living organisms joints are held together by ligaments (at the very least) which would have rotted away with the rest of the flesh.

Those deformed casters might be some sort of witches. I suppose aging and occult stuff can do that to you

And I agree that the alchemy part looks like cooking

I paused my video for those casters too, they seem like they might be draugr by their super ugly appearance. When it went by quickly during the normal play I thought they were goblins.
I'm honestly not quite sure either, perhaps some sort of vampire as has been suggested. Or a new creature altogether is certainly possible.

That magic shot was really breathtaking. Those haggard creatures are interesting too. Almost a harpy/witch cross of some sort.

Well as for the skeleton arm I don't really care considering the entire concept of a walking skeleton makes no sense considering there are no muscles to hold everything together. I also think that the second picture is of Falmors. And lastly, that assassination is the player assassinating an npc. We saw it in the GI footage I believe, or it may have been the G4 footage.

Those creatures...I really can't put my finger on it. Their hands look almost distinctively Goblin, but the rest of their features look much more human like than Goblins traditionally are. We'll see..

That's normal if you ask me, I just checked again and my own bones also don't stick to each other. I imagine they would have to be held up by magic too if all material except bones was removed from my body.

Next up, WTF are these things?

Err, I'm not sure if I want to know, or worse, meet them...

Is this image evidence that enemies can assassinate you?

It looks similar to previously released footage from assassination done by the player, but I can't tell.

Finally, we see the grabbing function in action.

I was relieved to learn that it's in the game, I was afraid they'd streamlined it out. But I obviously need it to decorate my home (and everything else).

Fryse Hags like in Solstheim/Bloodmoon maybe? Just odd they have 4 fingers per hand, so maybe the post above me is right.

I also think that is cooking.

I think those feathers are a part of their clothing and not actually grown as they are also parts of their dresses.

Magic, skeleton bones in real life are not held together by anything at all...the skeleton of a living person is held together by muscles and ligaments, both of which will have faded away on a skeleton. So yeah, the reanimation magic keeps it all together.
